Iain Lee reflects on saving suicidal man live on air: ‘I wasn’t going to let him die’

Iain Lee has recalled saving a suicidal man's life live on air, saying he 'just wasn't going to let him die'. Back in December 2018, the broadcaster was presenting his talkRADIO show The Late Night Alternative alongside producer Katherine Boyle, when a listener named Chris called in to the show. Chris, who was slurring, explained he had post traumatic stress disorder and had taken an overdose. Iain kept him on the line for 30 minutes as they attempted to locate him, after discovering he was near a nightclub in Plymouth. Lee told him: 'I'll tell you what Chris, I don't want you to die tonight, man, and I need to know what street you're on. I want you to get through tonight and chat to me tomorrow, when you haven't got a load of drugs in you. 'I don't want you to die tonight because I love you. I love you, brother. I love you.'
