Press release from the Capistrano Unified School District: May 8, 2020 Dear CUSD Families, We want to keep you updated on what is on our mind as we close out another week of distance learning. End of the Year: We want to support our students, families, teachers, and staff in closing school well (grading, finals, returning textbooks, Chromebooks, and all of the logistics that the end of the school year brings) while also acknowledging and celebrating the important milestones that our students and families will be celebrating. We will be reaching out to families to obtain feedback on distance learning in an effort to make improvements for the future. Summer assessments and interventions: This is a plan we are currently drafting and we will have more information near the end of the school year. Opening the 2020-21 School Year: We know you are hearing rumors and have concerns about what school will look like when we return. We anticipate that Governor Newsom will provide guidelines and expectations to school districts regarding opening for 2020-21 school year next Tuesday, May 12, 2020.
