George Russell expressed his relief that Zhou Guanyu was okay after being involved in the Chinese driver's "horrific" crash at the start of the British Grand Prix . After a slow getaway in his Mercedes, Russell appeared to receive a tap to the rear which sent him into the path of Zhou, whose Alfa Romeo flipped over , careered across the gravel trap, vaulted over the tyre barrier and into the catch fencing, just metres from spectators in a grandstand. After being trapped in his car for a few minutes, Zhou was eventually extracted. His team tweeted: "Following a crash at the start of the British Grand Prix, Zhou Guanyu is conscious and now at the circuit's medical centre to undergo evaluation." He has since been declared fit and well.
