BCCI SGM by Vijay Tagore • Last updated on Share Tweet The BCCI office-bearers have new tasks on hand © IPL The Special General Meeting (SGM) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), held in Ahmedabad on Saturday (May 27), took cognizance of the criticism of facilities at various stadiums across the country and decided to form a committee on ways to sanction grants for various stadiums. In particular, the BCCI members discussed the criticism, mainly in social media, of amenities at some grounds, and wanted an up-gradation of the grounds for the public turning up at the grounds. The item — Formation of Infrastructure development and subsidy committee — was the first point on the five-point agenda for the meeting. The SGM authorized the office-bearers to form the committee. The upgradation of the grounds is expected to be complete before the World Cup in October-November. In a similar point relating to the formation of a working group for the World Cup, the SGM, again, authorized the office-bearers to take a call.
