99 Songs Full Movie Leaked Online For Free Download

April 16, 2021 by www.filmibeat.com Leave a Comment

AR Rahman’s production venture 99 Songs graced the theatres today (April 16, 2021). The film directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy has also become the latest victim of piracy. 99 Songs has been leaked on Telegram and other piracy-based websites including Tamilrockers and Movierulz. Notably, the unfortunate leak of the film might affect its collection at the box office.

Released in 3 different languages- Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu, the film has story jointly written by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy and AR Rahman. As expected, the musical drama garnered the attention of the audience especially for its soulful songs, beautifully written storyline, acting chops of the lead actors Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas, and their irresistible chemistry.

With music composed by Rahman, 99 Songs has dialogues penned by Hussain Dalal (Hindi), Gautham Menon (Tamil) and Kiran (Telugu). It is worth mentioning that GV Prakash Kumar and Khatija Rahman have given voice-over for Ehan and Edilsy respectively for the Tamil version.

The film has an extensive star cast including Tenzin Dalha, Aditya Seal, Lisa Ray, Manisha Koirala, Thomson Andrews, Ranjit Barot, Rahul Ram, Remo Fernandes, Kunal Kamra and Kurush Deboo. Backed by AR Rahman under his maiden production banner YM Movies, the musical-romance film has cinematography carried out by Tanay Satam and James Cowley. Majorly shot in India and Ukraine, 99 Songs ‘ editing has been done by Akshay Mehta and Shreyas Beltangdy. The distribution rights of the film have been bought by Jio Studios.

We try the new ‘choose-your-own-adventure’ interactive movie theatre experience: How is it better than what we already have?

April 16, 2021 by www.asiaone.com Leave a Comment

If you’ve watched or heard of the Netflix film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, you’d be familiar with the concept of interactive films — imagine the video version of the hit 1980s Choose Your Own Adventure book series.

But the 2018 award-winning movie isn’t the first to have viewers make choices for the protagonists.

That honour goes to Late Shift, a British crime thriller first screened in 2017 at the Cannes Film Festival and made available on PlayStation, Xbox, Apple TV, and other platforms. Now, it is also the first feature-length interactive film to receive a wide theatrical release, and the film will soon be available in Singapore at Golden Village.

The movie’s about a student Matt (Joe Sowerbutts) who is kidnapped and sort of forced into doing a heist at an auction house while working the late shift at a car park. I say ‘sort of’ because some of the decisions you, in the audience, get to decide are whether Matt agrees to do the heist and how big of a percentage cut he’d get in return.

(Of course, even if the majority of the audience doesn’t want him to be involved in the crime, he’d still have to do it through an alternate development because of plot necessity. Same with some other scenarios in the movie.)

While the heist is mostly successful, Matt and his fellow robbers are pursued by a vicious gang and he has to search for a safe way out of the mess.

How it works

Before entering the theatre, you should already have the CtrlMovie app on your mobile phone; it’s available for download for free on the App Store and Google Play. After you enter the theatre hall, scan the QR code that’s on the movie screen, and you should see the message “You’re all set!” on your phone app.

Once the movie is running, decision buttons will be displayed on the app. The first binary scenario will appear a mere few minutes into the film, and you have around four seconds to make your decision. The majority choice will be reflected on the screen, and the transition is so seamless you won’t notice it at all.

According to an article by the South China Morning Post , there are 180 binary scenarios and seven alternative endings. The 90-minute film will have around 60-plus binary scenarios.

Is it fun? Is it worth the hype?

Yes, and yes, if only for the novelty of it.

Being quite the ‘just follow law’ kind of person in real life, I found myself selecting the proper, socially correct choices for Matt. But not the rest of the viewers in my theatre hall. There were several times when the opposite — rebellious — choice was the majority decision, and I suspect the people there are the cheeky sort who wants to make decisions not normally made in real life.

And that’s where the fun comes in, I realise.

Late Shift provides you many opportunities within 90 minutes to make decisions that you won’t make in your life and witness the gory consequences. The difference between doing this in the cinema and on your home entertainment system is, besides the better visuals and sound system, the unpredictability of what’s going to happen — cue occasional chuckles and loud groans from the audience.

As entertaining as the experience is, I still have my doubts on whether the movie really followed the audience’s choices, or if the binary scenarios were computed beforehand.

Still, I reckon if you’re a movie-lover, this interactive theatre experience is worth at least a try. The movie has enough thrills and spills to entertain.

How to get tickets

AsiaOne attended the media screening at Golden Village Gold Class earlier this week where we also enjoyed a sumptuous three-course meal — Chili Crab Potato Skin, Coq Au Vin, and Dark Chocolate Ice Cream — by Executive Chef Kenny Yeo from One Faber Group’s Arbora Hilltop Garden & Bistro and Dusk Restaurant & Bar, with drinks provided by Chivas.

This Gold Class package is priced at $95 for GV members, and $98 for the public, and will be held on April 20 and 21.

The movie will open on April 22 at GV Funan, GV Plaza, and GV Suntec City, with tickets priced at $13 (weekdays) and $15 (weekend). If you are rewatching the movie for alternate outcomes, present your ticket stub or e-tickets to purchase discounted tickets at $8 (weekdays) and $10 (weekend).

Ajeeb Daastaans Movie Review: Konkona Sen Sharma And Manav Kaul Stand Out In Karan Johar’s Netflix Anthology

April 16, 2021 by www.filmibeat.com Leave a Comment

Rating:
3.0 /5

Star Cast: Fatima Sana Shaikh, Jaideep Ahlawat, Armaan Ralhaan, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Abhishek Banerjee, Inayat Verma, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manav Kaul, Shefali Shah

Directors: Shashank Khaitan, Raj Mehta, Neeraj Ghaywan, Kayoze Irani

Available on: Netflix

Runtime: 2 hours 22 minutes

“It’s always the little things that matter, not the big promises. What’s important is that people understand each other.” Maybe, that’s one of the reasons why Neeraj Ghaywan’s Geeli Pucchi and Kayoze Irani’s Ankahi are the two stories which stand out in Karan Johar’s latest Netflix anthology Ajeeb Daastaans .

After the critically acclaimed Lust Stories and the drab Ghost Stories , Karan Johar once again brings four diverse filmmakers under one roof to offer us a bunch of short stories, which explore the different facets of human emotions simmering under fractured relationships.

Read on to know what each of the stories have in store for us.

Majnu

Ajeeb Daastaans begins with Shashank Khaitan’s Majnu . Babloo (Jaideep Ahlawat) is an influential local kingpin who is stuck in a loveless marriage with Lipakshi (Fatima Sana Shaikh). Unknown to Lipakshi, Babloo harbours a dark secret while his wife tries to deal with her loneliness with a slew of affairs. Enters London-returned Raj Kumar (Armaan Ralhan), son of the family’s driver. What follows next is a bunch of revelations on the theme of sexuality, revenge and deceit.

Fatima Sana Shaikh has a magnetic screen presence but the actress does stumble a bit when it comes to playing a seductress. Jaideep Ahlawat delivers a reliable act. Armaan Ralhan is convincing as Raj Kumar, the man who brings in a twist in the tale.

Director Shashank Khaitan has an engaging plot in his hand. However, the filmmaker struggles to add some nuances to his storytelling to make it more appealing to the audience. Also, the inconsistent screenplay sticks out like a sore thumb.

Khilauna

Raj Mehta of G ood Newwz fame offers the audience a sly pro-capitalism drama in which a street smart house-help Meenal (Nushrratt Bharuccha) and her precious kid sister Binny (Inayat Verma) try to bridge the gap between the haves and the not-haves; unaware of the exploitation and horrors that come along.

Nushrratt Bharuccha springs a surprise with her portrayal of a naive, confident women. Inayat Verma (who was charming in Anurag Basu’s Ludo) woos you this time with a chilling performance. Abhishek Banerjee is top-notch as the neighbourhood laundry man Sushil.

Filmmaker Raj Mehta tries to throw light on the dynamics of the class divide and also pulls the rug off your feet with a ‘chilling’ twist. However, this segment falters in terms of writing, which looks a little weak at places.

Geeli Puchhi

Masaan director Neeraj Ghaywan’s Geeli Puchhi is the best one in the whole lot. The film revolves around Bharati (Konkona Sen Sharma), a Dalit factory worker who has her eyes set on the data operator’s job. To her shock, the post is offered to an upper-class newly married woman Priya (Aditi Rao Hydari). Initially peeved, Bharti eventually befriends the new recruit and strikes an unexpected friendship with her. However, their forbidden bonding comes with its share of heartbreaks and deception.

The ever-reliable Konkona Sen Sharma proves once again why she is one of the finest talents in our country. Lending her ample support is Aditi Rao Hydari, who is radiant in each and every frame.

Neeraj Ghaywan’s Geeli Pucchi overpowers rest of the films in the anthology when it comes to getting its plot and emotions bang on. Within a limited time, the director succeeds in packing a series of themes like homophobia, class and caste divide in his narrative that leaves you thinking for a long time.

Ankahi

Lastly, Kayoze Irani’s Ankahi tells the story of unhappily married mother Natasha (Shefali Shah), whose daughter is slowly losing her sense of hearing. While Natasha is quick to adapt to sign language, her hubby (played by Toto Roy Chaudhary) seems a bit disinterested. When Natasha bumps into a deaf-and-mute photographer Rohan (Manav Kaul) at an art gallery, the former chooses to seek a companion in him. But then, ‘Do eyes never really lie?”

Manav Kaul is a treat to watch in Ankahi and his sign language scenes leave you with a wide grin on your face. Minus any dialogues, the man churns a delightful performance that’s hard to resist. Shefali Shah’s commendable act is also one of the reasons why Ankahi strikes a chord.

Director Kayoze Irani portrays marital rifts with empathy and proves that sometimes love needs no language. Right from suppressed emotions to emotional outbursts, the filmmaker taps in every area to give you a heart-touching watch.

Technical Aspects

Jishnu Bhattacharjee, Pushkar Singh and Siddharth Vasani’s camera work captures the vivid moods of Ajeeb Daastaans in an effective way. Nitin Baid’s sharp editing keeps you hooked to the screen.

Verdict

Karan Johar redeems his previous failure Ghost Stories with an engaging take on complex human relationships in the form of Ajeeb Daastaans . Despite the bumps at a few places, the Netflix anthology still makes for a compelling watch. Neeraj Ghaywan’s Geeli Puchhi and Kayoze Irani’s Ankahi are our picks from the lot.

We give 3 stars out of 5 to Karan Johar’s Netflix anthology film Ajeeb Daastaans .

MCU timeline: How to watch all 23 Marvel movies in the perfect order

April 13, 2021 by www.cnet.com Leave a Comment

You’ve probably seen most of Marvel’s films , but what about the TV shows? Timelines in the world of comics and movies can be more than a little confusing. And now, as we see Disney Plus launch its first Marvel series, things are about to get even more confusing.

After more than a decade of movies, TV shows, shorts and post-credits scenes, there’s a lot to work through in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And WandaVision has forced us to rethink how we’ve built this original list and what we thought we knew was — and was not — a part of the MCU .

Editors’ note, April 13, 2021: We’ve starting Phase 4, if Disney’s Investor Day announcements are any indication (finally, maybe; well, who knows actually?), and we *still* have Black Widow to look forward to, coming July 9. Thing is, this beast of a timeline hasn’t been updated in a while because, well, because there haven’t been any film releases since the last round — plus 2020 was hard, and no new releases meant no real need to work on this.

But that all changes soon. Check out the original Infinity Saga timeline below, and if you’re looking to stream some MCU movies, we can help . Let us know what you’d update in this timeline by hitting the comments once again. Think you’ve found a mistake? Definitely let us know in the comments (but not about that typo) (or that one) (or those missing seasons).

Post-Infinity Saga

Years ago, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told me diversity is very important to Marvel: “You look at any of our films and they’ve been very diverse,” he said. “We feel like we’re just doing justice to the books by representing that fully.”

After Black Panther and Captain Marvel ‘s performances at the box office, all bets are off for the future of the MCU. Their record-breaking , record-setting origin stories discarded all the superhero story rules — and helped lead to Endgame becoming the highest-grossing movie of all-time. Now the sky is most certainly the limit for MCU films.

Here’s a full list of every Marvel movie and show coming in 2021 and beyond . And this is the current upcoming MCU films list:

  • Black Widow : set for July 9, both in theaters and on Disney Plus with Premier Access.
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings : Sept. 3.
  • Eternals : Nov. 5.
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home : Dec. 17.
  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness : March 25, 2022.
  • Thor: Love & Thunder : May 6, 2022.
  • Black Panther 2 : July 8, 2022.
  • Untitled Marvel (that’s all the Disney release calendar says, but it could be Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania ): Oct. 7, 2022.
  • Captain Marvel 2 : Nov. 11, 2022.
  • Untitled Marvel : Feb. 17, 2023.
  • Untitled Marvel : May 5, 2023.
  • Untitled Marvel : July 28, 2023.
  • Untitled Marvel : Nov. 3, 2023.

Some of those untitled 2023 film slots may very well be: Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 , Blade, Deadpool 3 (now confirmed to join the MCU!), or even Fantastic Four .

Marvel on Disney Plus

ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finished its run in August 2020, and Inhumans on the same network years prior had such poor ratings any whisper of a second season quietly faded away.

Before that, Cloak and Dagger on Freeform was canceled after two seasons; Marvel’s Runaways on Hulu ended after three; and Marvel’s New Warriors never materialized onscreen (but is rumored to still have an unaired pilot out in the world). For a bit there it seemed Marvel might finally become a theater-only franchise. But then came Disney Plus.

We have no idea if Disney Plus spawned this new renaissance or if it was always in consideration, on the back burner somewhere. What we do know is this year’s release dates (we hope).

And at December’s Disney Investor Day though (click that link for ALL the info, seriously), we learned Tatiana Maslany will be playing the 6-foot-7 lawyer She-Hulk ; Moon Knight will feature “incredible Egyptian iconology”; Ms. Marvel , which has only recently started filming unveiled a small feature with our first footage from the series and Hawkeye is currently in production with Hailee Steinfeld officially joining Jeremy Renner.

Plus, five new shows were announced: Secret Invasion , Ironheart , Armor Wars , The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special , and I Am Groot .

The MCU timeline

So to either help you fill in the gaps after Endgame , to just watch all the shows for fun, or even merely try to impress your friends, we’ve created a timeline of what Marvel President Kevin Feige has now dubbed The Infinity Saga in the perfect viewing order. Or maybe you just care about where Captain Marvel and the new Disney shows fit in (hint: not where you think!).

The Marvel Cinematic Universe , as the entire franchise is called, also sometimes includes connected properties such as movie tie-in comics or shorts. For the graphic, we’ve left out smaller properties and stuck to the big two of films and shows, but there are more goodies below.

OK, now before you lash out in anger about some of the, ahem, more recent films’ placement, please keep two super, mega, major things in mind.

MCU postcredits scenes do not matter

Seriously, the mid- and postcredits scenes are nothing more than fun throwaways, or in-canon nods for fervent fans. Even Marvel itself has quite literally rewritten older scenes with new movies. Assuming Feige and other heads of Marvel Studios thought about the next 10, 20 or even 30 years of MCU films right from the start is a bit presumptuous and completely ignores the fun some directors have said they had with these scenes.

Now playing: Watch this: Watching the MCU movies in the perfect order
3:13

It’s madness to think that these films should only be watched or experienced in a single way. Do I believe this is the best way to watch the franchise, yes. Will I someday introduce friends and family using this CNET Method? OF COURSE. But that doesn’t mean it’s right for you.

My colleague Sean Keane has graciously ranked all of the MCU postcredits scenes for you (but if it would be helpful, maybe we can also develop a timeline of which to watch and when). I can’t say it enough times for first-time viewers: Ignore all the postcredits scenes (just watch the fun ones your friends tell you to). Especially when watching in this order, do not watch the Ant-Man and the Wasp credit scenes or you will be very confused.

And as for your next big question…

Captain Marvel does not belong in *chronological* order

No really, hear me out!

Captain Marvel is the first true origin story (as in, she wasn’t seen in a Marvel movie previously) since 2016’s Doctor Strange , but the film also gives fans a new look at Agents Nick Fury and Phil Coulson, as well as the Tesseract. If you were following a chronological watch order for your first viewing ever of these MCU films, you’d have So Many Questions watching the movie right after Captain America’s first outing.

In the film, Vers takes years to discover her true identity, and by waiting to watch her story with the context and nuance of 18 prior films you give yourself a treat. It’s more fun to bask in the fun of numerous in-jokes, “A-ha!” moments and Fury backstory you most likely wouldn’t have cared about 17 movies ago.

In this order, Captain Marvel is the treat you get before the Infinity War-prequel that is Thor: Ragnarok .

Despite what order you end up experiencing these movies in, you should save yourself a few hours and definitely still note that The Incredible Hulk is indeed still skippable and even William Hurt (“Thunderbolt” Ross himself) admitted it. Speaking to IGN in 2015, Hurt said that “[Ross in Civil War] is different because it’s a different style… And what they’ve done is they’ve taken a character who was the Ross from the older film and made a new version. This is a much newer Ross. A much different Ross.” After watching both, we can confirm this is indeed the case.

You’ll also notice that shorts and the Marvel One-Shots are missing from the graphic. These brief videos were initially created as standalone stories to provide backstory for characters or things seen in the movies, with two of them later becoming full-fledged shows.

More continuity in the MCU

There’s definitely some continuity strangeness when you have both movies and television show properties, and those listed on the graphic are no exception.

Season 1 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. saw the release of two Marvel movies and had to contend with incorporating those plots. Airing after the release of Thor: The Dark World , episode 8 of S.H.I.E.L.D. definitely takes place directly after those events.

Later in that season, episode 16 aired the same weekend as the release of Captain America: Winter Soldier and, in a neat bit of continuity, the events portrayed on S.H.I.E.L.D. take place at almost the same time as the film. (Some people say episode 16 comes before Winter Soldier, and you can certainly treat it as such. The *absolute* best way to watch them would be simultaneously , but I have yet to see anyone make that fan edit.)

Netflix’s Daredevil and Jessica Jones also have wibbly-wobbly timelines. Early in the series, the Battle of New York is referenced to as The Incident, and it’s said that it occurred about two years prior. But because of the show’s lack of interaction with any big-screen Marvel characters, it could take place almost anywhere on the timeline between Thor: A Dark World and Avengers: Age of Ultron. In our timeline, we placed it concurrent with the second season of S.H.I.E.L.D. so as to stay closer to the time it was actually released.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is higher up than you may have expected — that’s because of the number of years the film says have passed, meaning it takes place just a few months after the first film.

Some say that Doctor Strange should come before Winter Soldier, because of a certain rooftop scene. A rabbit hole one IGN editor has already gone done and debunked . So Strange stays where it is. (But with time manipulation up for grabs now, who really knows??)

Now playing: Watch this: How to watch every Marvel movie in the perfect order
3:41

A frequent question about the timeline is why Captain America: TFA is first. This is all just my opinion, but I think watching Steve Rogers grow up first, followed by seeing Agent Carter’s story, is a great way to begin an MCU foray. There’s a case to be made that he is the most important Avenger, and whether you agree with that or not, it’s worth it to jump in with him first.

As for the second most-asked question: No, Iron Man 2 shouldn’t come before Incredible Hulk because of the short, The Consultant. That short was released much later on the Thor DVD in an attempt to simply backfill the storyline . I’m 100 percent going to say that if anything should move, it’s the timing of when you watch that short — maybe put it after Iron Man 2 instead and that will help. Yeah, I’m going to make that change on the one-shot list, that should help.

The growth of the Marvel universe is extraordinary (har-har) and as the comics giant introduces new fans to new characters (some people had no idea who Doctor Strange was a couple of years ago) and partners with cable television and Netflix to expand even further, we could see some pretty epic pairings, teams and characters come out of the woodwork.

Which characters would you want to see in Marvel’s not-yet-announced-but-certainly-inevitable next phases on both the small and big screen? Let us know in the comments.
