Lil Nas X returned to Twitter following a three-month social media hiatus after contracting COVID-19 and having to pull out of Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball.

The 22-year-old Old Town Road rapper, who left some fans worried when he went off the grid without warning, came back with a cheeky first post.

‘Why are people surprised i’ve been away for so long? have y’all really never heard of maternity leave?’ he tweeted on Wednesday after delivering his debut album Montero to the world on September 17.

He appeared to be quickly making up for lost time on the microblogging site as just minutes later he also tweeted: ‘i’m so happy i’m back on the internet. i missed me so much.’

Additionally, he shared photos of ‘all the random hairstyles’ he’s ‘had over the last 4 months.’

The Rodeo hitmaker also shared a photo with two friends as they lounged on a white couch in a log cabin.

In the image, one of his pals was holding a Balenciaga shopping bag while the other rested his chin on his own hand.

He also teased new music while asking fans if he should release a track called ‘late to the party (ft. youngBoy)’ or ‘down souf hoes ft. saucy santana.’

A few hours later, he also returned to Instagram with a slideshow full of photos documenting her recent excursions.

These images included a bathroom mirror selfie, him rocking a black and white latex jumpsuit and anothr of him rocking a tiny white minidress.

One image showed him standing on the back of a fire truck in the same outfit he he could be smiling on top of a bellman’s cart at a hotel.

His disappearance from social media came after landing into a bit of hot water with a series of tweets that lightheartedly poked fun at his COVID-19 diagnosis.

‘COVID really sucks,’ the Grammy Award winner tweeted on December 17, adding, ‘Now that I’m sure I won’t die from COVID I will now begin making mildly funny jokes about having it.’

In yet another since-deleted tweet, he seemed to compare the virus to musicians Omarion and Alicia Keys.

‘I’m not sure whether I’ve had the Omarion or Alicia Keys variant of COVID but this has not been a fun journey,’ he wrote.

The random tweets continued with the rapper writing, ‘COVID really sucks. Last night I was tryna watch porn then I sneezed snot all over penis lmao.’

The hitmaker also joked about celebrating his hit single ‘Montero (Call Me by Your Name)’ making it onto Barack Obama’s list of favorite music of 2021.

He wrote, ‘Started running around the house in excitement when I saw this, then I remembered I have COVID lol.’

It seems the Call Me by Your Name singer may have realized that his social media musings were potentially in bad taste as the Tweets have since been deleted from the rapper’s account.

The rapper is known for making controversial remarks on Twitter. In October, the artist – who’s openly gay – wrote: ‘This gay sh** was fun at first. I miss p**** now.’

Eight minutes later he quote tweeted himself and added, ‘Nevermind he texted back.’

Harry Styles has had fans thinking a One Direction reunion may be on the cards as he shared a cryptic snap on Instagram before quickly deleting it.

The Grammy-winning singer who is currently on the New Zealand leg of his Love On Tour stadium tour has never shied away when it comes to hoping his former bandmates would reunite.

But Harry, 29, appears to have melted the internet after taking a selfie while in what appears to be a hotel gym.

The Boyfriends singer previously explained that he listened to One Direction songs while working out but it now appears he likes to wear their faces too.

In view of his 48.3 million Instagram followers, the hitmaker shared the snap of him in the gym wearing a t-shirt from 1D’s Up All Night tour from 2012.

Harry posed wearing the t-shirt along with a pair of black jeans, white sports socks and yellow trainers while sporting his curly locks in a man bun.

However, just moments after uploading the snap, he quickly deleted it with some believing he may have intended on sharing it with his Close Friends list.

Others believe that his post could have hinted at a possible reunion with Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik as they flocked to social media to share their reactions.

“Harry Styles wearing a 1D T-shirt is the serotonin boost I needed,” said one.

While a second penned: “Harry Styles uploading this pic then deleting just so I don’t get my hopes up for a 1D reunion.”

“Sooo @Harry_Styles, does this mean a 1D reunion is happening?!” questioned another.

Before a fourth went on to type: “I’m dead. And he deleted it. GIVE US THE REUNION, @Harry_Styles!!!!!”

It comes just a month after Harry thanked his former bandmates as he made a clean sweep at the BRIT Awards winning four gongs.

He said: “I want to thank my mum for signing me up for The X Factor without telling me, so I literally wouldn’t be here without you.

“I want to thank Niall, Louis, Liam, and Zayn, because I wouldn’t be here without you either, thank you so much.”

Nowadays, the musician is hitting the top spot as a solo artist and has racked up an impressive CV consisting of sold-out stadiums across the world, six BRITs and three Grammy Awards under his belt to name just a few.

Harry Styles is said to have “slid into Yan Yan Chan’s DM’s” with the pair later striking up a close friendship following their social media interactions.

The Boyfriends hitmaker and influencer Yan Yan reportedly enjoyed a getaway together while Styles, 29, was touring Australia in February and performing to thousands of fans.

Sources claimed that Harry and Yan Yan became pals last month with both the influencer and singer following one another on social media.

Cheshire-born Harry was spotted taking a jog around Byron Bay’s lighthouse which is believed to be one of Yan Yan’s favourite spots in the New South Wales coastal town.

MailOnline reports that Harry “slid into Yan Yan’s DM’s” before “inviting her to an after-party”, with the model later being seen enjoying his Love On Tour show from a corporate box after his Sydney show earlier this month.

Meanwhile, other sources suggested that Harry and Yan Yan have known one another for several years, having followed each other since 2020.

Speaking to Women’s Day magazine , an insider said: “Harry loves keeping good company while he’s away from home,” before adding: “By all accounts [Yan Yan] is a lot of fun.”

Harry often remains tight-lipped about his life away from the stage and screens, previously refusing to open up about his romantic life and relationships.

Speaking to Rolling Stone UK, he said: “Sometimes people say, ‘You’ve only publicly been with women.

“I don’t think I’ve publicly been with anyone, if someone takes a picture of you with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re choosing to have a public relationship or something.”

It comes after the Mirror was informed by a source that Harry had apparently grown close to a mystery woman and was keen to protect her identity.

“Harry is seeing someone. He’s going to great lengths to keep her identity quiet after the circus surrounding his relationship with Olivia,” a source said.

“But his close circles all know about the romance. Though it’s early days, things seem to be going well.”

Meanwhile, Yan Yan is said to have been single after splitting from her former boyfriend Nathan Jolliffe in July 2022 – shortly after they upped sticks and moved over to New York with one another.

Shortly after their split, Nathan took to his Instagram page to share a snap of the pair with the caption “Bittersweet” and a “bye” emoji,

Toward the end of his performance of the pop-funk midtempo “Adore You,” Harry Styles stopped singing, turned his back to the crowd and danced as if no one was watching.

With a wailing guitar solo in the background, Harry twirled and sauntered down the runway, waving and blowing kisses every which way. And then, with a hand over his heart, he bowed down, as if in deference to the fans who helped him become the pop superstar that he is today.

After all, his ongoing series of concerts is dubbed, “Love on Tour.” And Harry made sure to express his gratitude and appreciation for the Filipino audience every chance he got—through words, gestures and music.

“Kumusta, Philippines? It’s an absolute pleasure to be here with you tonight. Thank you so so much for having us all. It has been five years since I was here last, so it has been a long time,” he told the packed crowd at the Philippine Arena last March 14. “Thank you for the warm welcome. Thank you to every single one of you.”

For one and a half hours, the British singer-songwriter made the cavernous venue feel more intimate—you could call it Harry’s House, if you will. And in this space, there were only a few simple rules: “To sing and dance” and “have as much fun as you possibly can.”

Harry’s “job,” on the other hand, was to give his “absolute best to entertain you.” He kept his end of the bargain.

The last time Harry visited the Philippines was in 2018 for his first self-titled maiden world tour. Back then, he was almost apologetic about the fact that he had only 10 original songs to his name. This time, he returned with a stronger, more comprehensive catalog—bolstered by his critically acclaimed third album, “Harry’s House,” which won album of the year at the recent Grammy Awards.

Revisiting old songs

While most of the songs in his 20-song set were culled from that album, Harry spiced things up with a sprinkling of well-loved tracks from his self-titled debut album and his second one, “Fine Line.” It was also refreshing to see that Harry—unlike other former boy band members who went solo—had no qualms revisiting material from his past career.

Sporting a sequined, gold and navy blue raglan shirt, he worked the stage with unbridled exuberance, racing around, pumping his fists and stomping his feet. Every so often, in more upbeat or hard-edged songs, like “Satellite” and “Music for a Sushi Restaurant,” Harry would lose himself in the music, dancing with his head up and arms outstretched.

He shimmied, tousled his hair and cast flirtatious glances at the feverish fans as he sang sultry midtempos, like “Cinema” and “Watermelon Sugar.” He ventured into the funky side of his discography with “Woman,” a track laced with sultry guitar licks and basslines.

Meanwhile, the bouncy beats of “Late Night Talking” and “As It Was” proved to be irresistible, prompting fans to get up from their seats, dance, sing along and let loose. And for a little kick of nostalgia, Harry delivered a rambunctious rendition of “What Makes You Beautiful,” one of the biggest hits of his former group, the 2010s pop phenom One Direction.

While his vocals were solid throughout the concert, Harry tended to shy away from the high notes by tweaking the melodies of some of the choruses and bridges. But perhaps it was only prudent that he avoided overworking his voice given the extent of his tour, which has been running since September 2021. There are 169 shows overall. And Harry has more than 30 to go.

Still, his earnest, slightly husky baritone shone in the quieter acoustic numbers, like the haunting “Little Freak” and “Matilda.” The latter is a composition that Harry holds dear to his heart, and his moving performance had not a few fans wiping away tears. He also sounded strong and confident in the sweeping, pop-rock ballad, “Sign of the Times.”

Sense of belongingness

Harry put the fans—many of whom arrived in feather boas and flamboyant outfits—at ease by bantering with them. In the occasional lulls, the charismatic singer-actor read out fan signs, including that of a woman who proposed marriage to him. “Very sneaky! But I feel like we should perhaps get to know each other first,” he quipped.

Another woman held a sign that read, “My boyfriend said he will propose if you duet with him.” And now that couple is probably—or hopefully—engaged, after Harry regaled their request and sang snippets of “Sign of the Times” with the boyfriend.

In the festive, gospel-inspired ditty “Treat People with Kindness,” Harry, a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ community, unfurled a pride flag and waved it onstage. On the floor, joyous fans draped in pride flags danced and shuffled in a conga line. In “Love of My Life,” he stressed his love for his Filipino fans, saying “Mahal ko kayo!” Deafening screams ensued.

The words “house” or “home” suggest the concept of family, a sense of belongingness. And Harry saw to it that he created an environment where everyone felt loved and welcome. “Please feel free to be whoever it is you always wanted to be in this room tonight,” said Harry, who described the opportunity to perform in the Philippines a “privilege.”

“You have been absolutely wonderful. Thank you for the warm welcome. It has been so nice here,” Harry said. “You have changed my life. It has been a privilege being with you tonight.” INQ
