LOWELL (CBS) — A 103-year-old man celebrated his birthday with the COVID vaccine and a cake at Lowell General Hospital on Friday. The hospital said while every coronavirus vaccination is something to celebrate, this moment was extra special.

“Luis Valencia Torres, who turned 103 years young today, got a special surprise while waiting the required 15 minutes after receiving his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Our team surprised Luis with balloons, cake, and a heartfelt rendition of Happy Birthday, with back up singing from the other patients in the observation area,” Lowell General Hosptial posted to Facebook .

“Happy birthday, Luis and thank you for giving us the privilege of vaccinating and celebrating you!”

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A teenager has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of 17-year-old Jaylen Betschart.

Sacramento police said Betschart was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound after crashing into a pole near Granite Regional Park on Saturday afternoon. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Thursday, Sacramento police said detectives arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the homicide. Because of his age, the suspect’s name has not been released.

Police say they are continuing to investigate this shooting and ask anyone with information about the homicide to contact the police department.

Friends and teachers at Sacramento High School gathered Sunday to remember Betschart, a baseball and football player.

“He was taken from us way too soon. It’s hard to come to the reality of that,” said Domina Stamas, Jaylen’s science teacher.

Betschart’s death comes amid a violent weekend in Sacramento that claimed the lives of several people, including 9-year-old Makaylah Brent, who was shot at Mama Marks Park in Del Paso Heights Saturday. No arrests have been made in this shooting that injured three others.

Three men were also shot while shopping at an Arden-area market Saturday evening. Two have died, and one victim still has a bullet lodged in his shoulder, a spokesperson for the victims said. The victims include 19-year-old Abdul Mobin, who was shot in the head, and Shujauudin Omerkheil , who was shopping with his 4-year-old daughter when he was shot.

The gunman, 33-year-old Hassibullah Shams Hassib, shot and killed himself in the market. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating what led to the shooting, but detectives have said it appears to be random.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police are investigating the death of a 10-year-old child in Harlem .

Officers were sent to a NYCHA building on West 131st Street just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of an assault inside an apartment.

When officers arrived, they found a 10-year-old boy lying inside the living room. He was unconscious and unresponsive.

The boy was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

Nicolas Cage has got married for the fifth time by tying the knot with his girlfriend in a Las Vegas ceremony, it is claimed.

The Oscar-winner, 56, and Riko Shibata, 26, got married at the Wynn casino and hotel, MailOnline reports.

A marriage certificate issued in the state of Nevada obtained by the publication states the pair got married on February 16.

Riko, who is four years younger than his first son Weston Cage, is said to have taken the star’s surname.

Cage and Riko, who got wed for the first time, applied for their wedding license on January 10, which was also the date she turned 26.

The acting legend announced the pair’s engagement in an interview with his brother Marc Coppola’s on his radio show in August.

He said: “She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her for 6 months.

“We’re really happy together and we’re really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said ”Look, I wanna marry you” and we got engaged on FaceTime.

“I got her a black diamond engagement ring.

“Her favorite color is black so she wanted the black gold, and the black diamond.

“I customized and personalized it and I actually sent it to her FedEx.”

Ceremonies at the Wynn Las Vegas wedding salons can cost up to $29,990 (£21,500).

In a brochure the venue explains to couples: “Your wedding plans may include a simple reception of cake and champagne or a seated multi-course dinner.

“Whatever you choose, the catering staff at Wynn Las Vegas will assist you in creating a most memorable celebration.”

Their wedding came less than two years since Cage asked for an annulment four days after getting married to his fourth wife Erika Koike on March 23, 2019.

Explaining his decision, The Leaving Las Vegas actor later argued that he was too intoxicated to understand what he was doing.

He also accused Thai restaurant owner Koike of not telling him “the full nature and extent of her relationship with another person”.

In video footage showing the moment the couple went to apply for their marriage license Cage is heard screaming “She is going to take all my money” and “Her ex is a druggy”.

And Koike responded by saying: “Baby I am not asking you to do this.”

The star married first wife Patricia Arquette in April 1995 but the couple divorced in May 2001.

He then got married to Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie Presley in Hawaii in August 2002 on what was the 25th anniversary of her dad’s death.

Cage married third wife Alice Kim, who he met while she worked as a waitress in a Los Angeles restaurant, in July 2004, and they had a son, Kal-El in October 2005.

They announced they had separated in 2016 after Kim cheated on Cage with a Las Vegas bartender.

According to the report, the 57-year-old Face/Off actor got married to Erika Kookie, 26, in Las Vegas.

The report said the wedding ceremony that took place at a hotel was attended by family members and close friends of the couple.

Talking to People, Cage confirmed, “It’s true, and we are very happy.”

His representative said, “the wedding was held on February 16 to honour the birthday of the groom’s late father.”
