Silicon Valley giant Apple has implemented a stricter hybrid work policy in an effort to reduce costs and streamline its workforce. Tim Cook’s company is now actively tracking its in-person attendance schedule and warning employees that attempt to shirk the requirement to work in the office several days a week.

MacRumors reports that Apple has recently introduced a number of new measures to its hybrid work policy as it attempts to reduce company costs and streamline the firm’s workforce. The company is now actively tracking in-person attendance and issuing warnings to employees who do not adhere to the requirement of being in the office at least three days per week.

A hybrid home/office work policy has been in effect for Apple employees since April 2022 as part of the company’s gradual return strategy following the pandemic. Employees must report to work on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays; however, most are permitted to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Zoe Schiffer of Platformer claimed on Twitter that Apple is now keeping track of in-person attendance using badge records and issuing “escalating warnings” to staff members who don’t adhere to the three-day rule. Although this does not appear to be a company-wide policy, some Apple offices have even warned staff that non-compliance could result in job termination.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently reported on several cost-cutting measures being newly enacted by Apple, including managers becoming “as strict as ever” about office attendance. Some employees view this as a sign of the company preparing to fire those who don’t meet the in-person work requirement.

Bloomberg’s report also emphasized a similarity in retail establishments, with Apple paying closer attention to employees’ hours and attendance. Additionally, the company has stopped offering “special sick time” for time missed because of Covid and is requesting that workers use their regular sick days in its place.

The report also mentions Apple’s decision to forego filling open positions when staff members depart. This suggests that the company’s strategy to reduce costs while avoiding mass layoffs, like those that recently affected other tech giants like Meta, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, is at least partially reflected in the crackdown on employees who fail to meet in-person work requirements.

Apple isn’t the only tech company where management is at odds with workers. Breitbart News recently reported that in an open letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, more than 1,400 Google employees called for better management of the company’s mass layoffs. The letter calls on Pichai and his management team to remember the company’s code of conduct, which reads, “don’t be evil.”

Last year, Breitbart News reported on a woke revolt amongst Apple’s workers against returning to the office. In one case, employees labeled working in the office as racist:

The employees are calling for Apple to introduce a hybrid work schedule allowing employees to return to offices three days a week. The open letter claimed that Tim Cook’s push for in-person working is an attempt to make the company “younger, whiter, and male-dominated.”

Apple’s latest Inclusion and Diversity report stated that the company’s employees are roughly 65 percent male and 35 percent female, with 43 percent being white and nine percent identifying as black. The Apple Together employee group stated that the return to in-person work increased the disparities at the firm and will “lead to privileges deciding who can work for Apple” instead of who’d be the most suitable for the job.

Actor Kirk Cameron, author of the children’s book As You Grow , said on Thursday’s edition of the Breitbart News Daily podcast with host Alex Marlow that creating a moral future for America’s children requires protecting them from “cross-dressing men” pushing left-wing sexual ideologies marketed as “drag queen story hour.”

Cameron remarked, “If we want to see the future look like the kind of place we grew up in, or our grandparents grew up in, we need to start investing and planting seeds today that will grow into these future trees of liberty and blessing for our kids.”

“One of the ways we do that is by being the ones who tell them these stories, not allowing cross-dressing men to tell our children stories that lead our kids in a different direction,” he added.

Last week, Cameron hosted a children’s book reading in Fayetteville, Arkansas. One of the featured books, Elephants Are Not Birds , relays a naturalistic and essentialist understanding of sexual dimorphism.

The book’s promotional description reads :

BRAVE Books and Ashley St. Clair have partnered together to tackle the intense topic of gender in our book Elephants Are Not Birds, which follows the story of an Elephant named Kevin. Most can see that there is a distinct difference between an elephant and a bird but in this story, we’ll see that even those lines are blurred when the lies of Culture the Vulture are accepted as truth.

Culture the Vulture convinces Kevin that his ability to sing is one that only birds have, so logically this means that he is a bird. The lies and logic from Culture the Vulture parallel what our culture is attempting to feed the youth of today. The story Elephants Are Not Birds arrives at a similar conclusion society will arrive at when it comes to the idea of gender identity, boys are not girls and elephants are not birds.

The book reading was attended in protest by “trans activists, who were men dressed in drag.”

Cameron described his recent work as an author and organizer of book readings for children as a moral endeavor in opposition to the wickedness of “left woke ideology.”

“There’s a lot at stake,” he said, “and I want to do everything I can in the time I’ve been given to uproot as much evil that I’m able to.”

He cautioned concerned Americans against apathy.

“Men love to build worlds, and you can either build good ones, or you can build bad ones,” he remarked. “If you stay out of the game, I think you get depressed. I think that we’re made to serve people, and sitting on the couch just watching Fox News — or whatever it is — crying in your Chick-fil-A soup, waiting for somebody else to rescue you is not a good plan.”

The current cultural malaise, Cameron concluded, is part of a divine plan.

He stated, “I believe that this cultural setback that we’ve been experiencing is really a divine setup for a national comeback led by the family of faith.”

“Come to these events,” Cameron urged. “Start your own Brave Story Hour . Do something. Go to a board meeting. R ead their stories to your children. Pray. Get involved, because the good guys win, the bad guys lose, every time.”

He concluded, “You’ve just got to stick around long enough to see the end of the story, and God is still writing our story here in America.”

If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do attend King Charles’ Coronation, there is a chance they may be dressed very differently to the rest of the Royal Family.

It’s not yet known whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be part of the 2,000-strong congregation at Westminster Abbey, but they have been given an official invite.

Despite being the grandchildren of the new King, it is believed that Archie and Lilibet have not been invited, with sources citing that the children are “very young”.

Relations between the pair and the Royal Family are at an all-time low, the historic event awkwardly takes place on Prince Archie’s birthday and there are rumoured to be a number of demands which need to be met.

If they do choose to attend, a royal expert claims the Sussexes have to provide their own Coronation finery and won’t be given special robes to ‘stand out’ like some of the family.

According to author and historian Dr Tessa Dunlop, Harry and Meghan won’t wear robes or a coronet, which is a small crown consisting of ornaments fixed on a metal ring.

She told the Mirror “Causing maximum angst is the vexed question of the Sussexes; will they attend the big day and if so in what capacity? Historical precedent doesn’t bode well.

“After his own abdication and fall from grace Edward VIII attended neither the 1937 coronation of his brother George VI nor his niece Elizabeth’s in 1953.

“However in our changed times with a father-King who wants both his sons by his side, expect to see Harry there but minus a coronet and robe.

“With the exception of Prince William, at this Coronation peers of the realm will not be paying homage to the new King so it is unlikely that Harry will have to go down on bended knee.

“Likewise if Meghan attends, any Coronation finery will be entirely her own. Expect very few to stand on ceremony for the Duchess of Sussex.”

They will be in very different attire to the Prince and Princess of Wales, who are now the future King and Queen, and the other working royals.

Tessa added: “In contrast history suggests working royals will stand out.

“In 1953 the Queen’s sister Princess Margaret had her own coronation gown designed by Norman Hartnell, embroidered with roses and daisies and offset with a stunning Cartier tiara.

“She travelled to the Abbey with the Queen Mother and they sat in a box overlooking proceedings with a four-year-old Prince Charles squashed between them.

“A similar scenario for the Princess of Wales and her three children is likely – William and his offspring are next in line to the throne and coronations deliberately emphasise the order of precedence and succession.

“Like it or not this state occasion is all about royal hierarchy. Visual messaging through both costume and carriage will remind us who the future King and Queen are (whether the Sussexes like it or not!)”

As heir to the throne, William will reportedly pay homage to his father the King during the ceremony, which will see him kneel and pledge allegiance to Charles as well as touching the crown and kissing the monarch’s right cheek.

Harry famously wasn’t allowed to wear military uniform for the late Queen’s funeral last year – but was permitted to do so at a lying in state vigil.

It’s believed that Harry will only come to the Coronation if he gets a face-to-face meeting with Charles and William to discuss their issues.

According to sources, Harry wants a summit with his father and brother – and will hope it goes better than the infamous Sandringham summit in January 2020

An insider told The Mirror: “Harry has been very clear and his position hasn’t wavered – he isn’t going to come if he feels the atmosphere will be as toxic as it was during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and funeral.

“He’s said he wants to reconcile with his family and it’s their call, but so far nothing has changed.”

During an interview with Tom Bradby on ITV earlier this month, Harry was asked if he will come to the coronation if he is invited , and he said: “There’s a lot that can happen between now and then.

“But, you know, the door is always open. The ball is in their court.

“There’s a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they can – that they are willing to sit down and talk about it, because there’s a lot that’s happened in six years. And prior to that as well.”

Take a walk down to Māpuna Kabinet Art Gallery and smell the roses, literally, at the new scented exhibition featuring works from the Netherlands and New Zealand.

On display from April 1 to early July, Smells like Roses – Rozengeur Exhibition,, introduces Olfactory art to New Zealand.

The art form uses scent as a means for an audience to experience aninstallation.

Co-chair of the Oranjehof Dutch Connection museum and co-curator of the exhibition, Arjan van der Boon said artworks that are imbued with scents are known to create intimate or mood-changing experiences that can evoke memories and emotions.

A popular art form in the United States and Japan, it remains mostly unknown around Aotearoa with few galleries paying attention to the form.

Located in the multicultural Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom facility, the exhibition brings together Māori, Pākeha and Dutch cultures to reflect the partnership that runs through the cultural centre in Foxton.

“Today, established institutions like the Riijksmuseum, where the old Dutch masters are on display, use smells to let visitors more holistically experience the past,” van der Boon said.

“These are the new techniques and approaches to art that we want to introduce to New Zealand audiences.”

Of the new art form, Mayor Bernie Wanden said the ‘Smells like Roses’ Olfactory art exhibition was making art inclusive to all, “including sight-imparied people and people with other disabilities like synaesthesia.”

The exhibition will be open daily and free to attend.
