Josie Gibson admits she has crush on Elon Musk, shares her feelings about billionaire

July 4, 2022 by www.thenews.com.pk Leave a Comment

English television personality and presenter Josie Gibson has expressed her feelings about billionaire Elon Musk.

The 37-year-old TV host did not feel hesitation to reveal that she finds Tesla founder Elon Musk’s intelligence very attractive.

Josie appeared to be fired up by the super-rich business magnate as she stated that she would like to see his rocket and would be open to an approach from the billionaire.

However, she has insisted that it’s the Tesla and SpaceX founder’s brainpower she’s interested in and not his many billions.

The host told The Mirror that she has ‘Little time for love at the moment, but would be open to an approach from Musk – or him “sliding into my DM’s”.’

Elon Musk, who remained in news amid Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial for his romance and breakup with the Aquaman actress, has been married three times and is now single just like Josie after splitting with singer Grimes – a mother to two of his eight children.

Josie Gibson, who won Big Brother in 2010, says Musk ‘fascinates her’ and claimed that she likes how ‘intelligent he is.’

Twitter Hacked In Massive Bitcoin Scam: Joe Biden, Elon Musk Accounts Among Dozens Breached

TOPLINE

The Twitter accounts of dozens of high-profile figures and companies were hacked Wednesday, including Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Kanye West, Joe Biden and Apple, to promote an apparent Bitcoin scam.

KEY FACTS

Twitter accounts belonging to Michael Bloomberg, Wiz Khalifa, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Warren Buffett, CashApp and Uber, were also among those hijacked.

The scammers posted the same message, promising users who give Bitcoin to an account listed in the tweets double their payment in return, which is a common cryptocurrency scam.

“I am giving back to the community. All Bitcoin sent to the address below will be sent back doubled! If you send $1,000, I will send back $2,000. Only doing this for 30 minutes,” the tweets read.

As hackers were still sending out scam tweets more than an hour after the first accounts were breached, Twitter temporarily prevented all verified accounts from tweeting in an effort to stem the spread of even more scams, causing momentary chaos for news organizations, journalists and others.

As of 6:54 p.m. EST, the scammers appeared to have received 355 donations netting 12.86131944 BTC, which totals $118,365.30.

In a tweet thread late Wednesday, the company said hackers gained access to its internal systems through a successful “social engineering attack” against its employees (social engineering is a technique used by hackers to dupe users into clicking on malicious links or giving away sensitive data by crafting fake emails or other messages.)

Crucial quote

“We have locked accounts that were compromised and will restore access to the original account owner only when we are certain we can do so securely,” Twitter said. “Internally, we’ve taken significant steps to limit access to internal systems and tools while our investigation is ongoing. More updates to come as our investigation continues.”

Key background

This isn’t the first time prominent Twitter accounts have been subject to security issues. Last year, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s profile was breached by hackers who tweeted the N-word, as well as the suggestion a bomb had been placed at Twitter headquarters. At the time, Twitter said Dorsey’s phone number had been compromised, which “allowed an unauthorized person to compose and send tweets via text message.” And in 2017 a rogue Twitter employee shut down the President Donald Trump’s account for 11 minutes on his last day on the job.

Army’s Twitter and YouTube accounts hacked and flooded with crypto spam and images of Elon Musk

July 4, 2022 by news.sky.com Leave a Comment

The British Army has launched an investigation into a breach of its Twitter and YouTube accounts.

Its YouTube channel featured videos on cryptocurrency and images of Mr Musk, while its official Twitter account retweeted several posts appearing to relate to NFTs.

An NFT, or non-fungible token, is a distinct cryptographic token that cannot be replicated and acts as a certificate of ownership for virtual items.

At one point the account name was changed to Bapesclan and the profile picture to an ape-like cartoon figure in clownish make-up.

The Twitter account was restored to normal by Sunday evening.

A tweet posted afterwards read: “Apologies for the temporary interruption to our feed. We will conduct a full investigation and learn from this incident. Thanks for following us and normal service will now resume.”

The YouTube account also appeared to have its usual videos restored.

An Army spokesperson said they were aware “of a breach of the Army’s Twitter and YouTube accounts and an investigation is under way”.

They said information security is taken “extremely seriously”, and added: “Until the investigation is complete it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

Conservative MP Tobias Ellwood said what had happened “looks serious”.

The chair of the House of Commons Defence Select Committee tweeted: “This looks serious.

“I hope the results of the investigation and actions taken will be shared appropriately.”

Musk mystery deepens: SpaceX secret launch may belong to NEW US spy agency

Last week, astronomers pointed out that something weird was happening on one of Musk’s Falcon 9 launches. According to SpaceX , the rocket was only carrying one satellite belonging to communications operator Globalstar, even though the rocket has the capability to carry so much more. These suspicions were confirmed at an official space catalogue of satellites recorded four US Government known probes tagging along with the flight.

These satellites, which were labelled USA 328, USA 329, USA 330 and USA 331, were shared on Twitter by astrophysicist Dr Jonathan McDowell.

Speaking to Express.co.uk , Dr McDowell noted that, as satellites get smaller thanks to advancements in technology, it is becoming increasingly common for unrelated satellites to be paired together on a launch, which then allows for secretive missions like this.

He added that his “best guess” was that these satellites belonged to the US National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), which builds, launches and operates spy satellites for the US.

However, he noted that this launch was particularly secretive, even for an NRO satellite.

He said: “The things that were different about this launch is that it wasn’t announced in advance that there would be classified payloads onboard.

“And now that it’s launched, they’ve added four classified objects to the space catalogue, which is sort of an official acknowledgement that yes there were four spacecraft on board.

“They’re satellites that the US Government acknowledges as its own but isn’t going to tell you what they’re up to.”

According to Dr McDowell, there were many questions about the launch.

He said: “SpaceX could have said a day before the launch that they’re going to be secret satellites on board without saying anything more about them.

“But they didn’t do that, and that seems unnecessarily coy.

“The other thing they could have done is to say that they’re launching four satellites for the NRO, or for the airforce or the space force and they didn’t do that.

“So we still don’t know which part of the US secret apparatus owns these satellites, and normally they do say that. ”

He added that this “unusual level” of secrecy was “clearly intentional”, pointing to the fact that SpaceX kept the cameras off during the phase where they released the US Government satellites, without acknowledging that’s what they were doing.

The astrophysicists ridiculed this decision, which he believes could have been taken to hide the orbit of the satellite.

He said: “The whole thing of keeping the orbits of the satellite secret that they do- within a day, amateur astronomers had located the satellites in orbit.

“You can see the satellites going overhead in the sky because you can’t make the sky secret.

“Now we know the orbits of these satellites, even though the US Government hadn’t announced them.”

Dr McDowell admitted that while it’s possible the launch was kept secret due to some “bureaucratic contracting issue”, it’s could also be possible that the satellites belonged to a new clandestine, classified US agency, similar to the NRO’s operations before the agency became declassified in 1992 and public came to know of it.

He said: “The only remaining question is: are these satellites from the NRO, or maybe is there sme new secret agency that’s still secret, that is operating these satellites.

“If you want tinfoil, most people have heard of the CIA, most people have not heard of the NRO.

“Clearly, the CIA sucks at being a secret agency, and now the NRO is getting so well known after 30 years, it wouldn’t surprise me that there’s some bureaucratic spy organisation that feels like it’s time for yet another secret agency that will do naughty things for a while before its exposed.”

Special treatment for Tesla not in India’s interest: Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal, report says

July 3, 2022 by economictimes.indiatimes.com Leave a Comment

Synopsis

“Tesla is free to come in and put up a shop here and sell its cars,” Aggarwal told London-based business publication Financial Times. “They just want to be treated differently from others, which I believe is not in the interests of India.”

Electric vehicle maker Ola Eletric ’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said granting special incentives to Tesla in India would not be in the best interests of the country.

“Tesla is free to come in and put up a shop here and sell its cars,” Aggarwal told the London-based business publication Financial Times. “They just want to be treated differently from others, which I believe is not in the interests of India.”

The Elon Musk run-company had a keen interest in entering the Indian market , but the company’s demand for lower import duties has led to a tussle with the Indian government, causing it to halt its plans. Musk tweeted about his lack of interest in setting up a plant in India in May.

Tesla wants to import and sell its cars in India first before manufacturing here. The company is known to lobby governments around the world for special incentives. In China, for example, Tesla has been able to start operations without having to partner with a local company, which has been the law in the country for many years.

The company’s first hire in India was Manuj Khurana, who joined as public policy head in 2021 to lead its lobbying efforts. But Reuters reported in June that Khurana had left the company, indicating that the company’s plans to enter India had stalled. ET reported on May 5 that Tesla had re-assigned all of its employees to work for the larger Asia Pacific market.

Ola Electric, meanwhile, is working on an electric car project and Aggarwal gave a sneak peek of it at a recent event in Bengaluru. The company is scouting for land in various states to manufacture the car and its own lithium-ion battery cells. Currently, all Indian EV makers import cells from other countries.

The recent spate of electric vehicle fires, one involving an Ola scooter, has not helped the company, which has seen its sales drop significantly month-on-month. ET reported on June 24 that the company has been selling only 130-200 scooters a day, way off its ambition of making 10 million scooters a year.
