Exclusive — Afghan Interpreter: Joe Biden’s Afghanistan Withdrawal ‘Resulted in Chaos’

August 15, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Jamil Hassan, an Afghan translator who worked for Gens. David Petraeus (Ret.) and John Nicholson (Ret.) and author of Promises Betrayed: An Afghan Interpreter at The Fall of Kabul , said on SirusXM’s Breitbart News Sunday with host Joel Pollak that President Joe Biden’s decisions regarding the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Afghanistan led to “chaos.”

“This was a decision that destroyed everything and caught everyone off guard and by surprise,” Hassan stated. “It was all because of the hasty and not properly calculated decision of the U.S. president, Joe Biden. The reason I’m saying this is that once they degraded the Taliban from a terrorist group to an insurgent group, it facilitated the U.S. to negotiate with the Taliban, because the U.S. mainly does not negotiate with terrorists.”

“It was not a successful evacuation, at all,” he remarked. “Look at those 13 Marines that were killed in that suicide attack, plus 200 Afghan civilians that were killed in that attack, and look at the aftermath of the evacuation. Even ordinary Americans are suffering from the influx of the Afghan refugees, and look at what happened in Ukraine, which was followed by Afghanistan.”

The Biden administration’s handling of its withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan “resulted in chaos,” Hassan determined.

He added, “There were lots of other chances provided to the Taliban, compromises made to the Taliban, but the Taliban did not make any single significant compromise either to the U.S. or to the Afghan government, in particular.”

“When the U.S. signed that Doha agreement with the Taliban, right after that, the Taliban started attacking Afghan defense and security forces in a way that was very fierce,” he recalled.

Former President Donald Trump and the Trump administration had tentative conditions-based plans for any withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan, Hassan recalled.

“When the deal with the Taliban was signed under President Trump’s administration, there was a very certain phrase in that the withdrawal,” he concluded. “The withdrawal would be ‘condition-based,’ [which] means if the Taliban remained committed to their their promises to the U.S. and to the Afghan government and to the Afghan people, they will withdraw the American and other foreign forces from Afghanistan, but otherwise it would not happen.”

Ron Johnson: ‘I Don’t Believe Anything that Joe Biden Tells Me’

August 15, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Monday on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) reacted to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre saying President Joe Biden had not been briefed prior to the FBI’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

The Biden administration has also denied the notion that the FBI had been politicized.

Johnson, highlighting that the President’s denial of knowledge about his son Hunter’s foreign business dealings has been contradicted, said he did not “believe anything” that Biden said.

“First of all, I don’t believe anything that Joe Biden tells me. We investigated his son, Hunter. Joe Biden repeatedly said that he never had spoken to his son about his overseas business deals — now we know we spoke to him all the time about it. So, I don’t believe Joe Biden, and I certainly don’t believe Merrick Garland and the higher-ups in the FBI. They’ve been lying to the American public as well. They’ve been covering things up.”

“[I]t’s obvious that the FBI has been politicized — top echelons of it — the Department of Justice has. To me, this is looking more and more like a dispute over the president’s declassification authority. My understanding is that the president’s the ultimate authority in terms of what is going to be declassified.”

White House Worried August Might Be ‘Momentum Killer’ for Joe Biden

August 15, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

President Joe Biden’s communications staff members worry he could lose some of his political “momentum” in August while on vacation.

A memo made public from political advisor Jen O’Malley Dillon and senior advisor Anita Dunn to White House chief of staff Ron Klain warned the White House must redouble its efforts to prevent an August “slump” facing the president.

“For many administrations, August can be a momentum killer,” the memo warns. “For this team, August is going to be a momentum builder as we come out of last week…”

Biden’s staff is eager to spin the latest spurt of legislative action as a giant win for the president who continues to suffer the political effects of high inflation and gas prices.

The White House has enjoyed a week of positive news coverage from the establishment media after passing Democrats’ more than $430 billion tax hike, health, and green energy spending bill through Congress.

Dubbed the “Inflation Reduction Act” by Democrats, Biden will host a grand White House signing ceremony of the bill in September, according to the White House, claiming it will help families struggling with higher costs.

President Biden remains on vacation this week at Kiawah Island in South Carolina.

The memo also boasts of a “Building a Better America” tour where the White House plans to send out the president and Vice President Kamala Harris as well as Democrat members of Congress, cabinet members, governors, and mayors to promote Biden’s legislative successes across the country.

The White House also expressed their eagerness to promote Republicans as out of touch with their “extreme MAGA agenda” that sides with “special interests” over the American people.

Biden also plans to promote a “Safer America Plan” to “fight crime” as many of America’s major cities are struggling with record rates of violent crime.

Republicans, however, are spending the month of August criticizing Biden’s agenda, working toward a “red wave” of support in November.

China’s President Xi Jinping plans foreign trip including meeting Joe Biden, says Wall Street Journal

Chinese officials are planning a possible trip by President Xi Jinping to Southeast Asia in November for what could be the leader’s first foreign trip since the COVID-19 pandemic and include a meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

Mr. Biden’s team has long sought and has not yet confirmed an in-person meeting between the two leaders to lower tensions as the two countries spar over Taiwan, trade and a host of other issues .

The White House is continuing to work on doing so, according to one person familiar with the matter, who said Biden remains open to a face-to-face visit, including on the sidelines of November’s meeting of the Group of 20 nations in Indonesia.

“We don’t have any details on timing or location,” said a U.S. official.

Mr. Xi and Mr. Biden discussed the possible meeting during a more-than-two-hour July 28 call that included tense talks over a visit to the Chinese-claimed island of Taiwan by U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi .

Joe Biden Plans to Extend Vacation in Delaware After Kiawah Island Trip

August 16, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

President Joe Biden is planning to extend his vacation this week after he wraps up his time on Kiawah Island in South Carolina.

According to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data cited by the Associated Press, Biden plans to be in Wilmington, Delaware, from Tuesday until Friday after he leaves Kiawah Island.

The White House has not released a schedule of the president’s vacation but announced that Biden will return to Washington, DC, on Tuesday to sign the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act of 2022” before leaving again. The $430 billion bill raises taxes to spend more on government-controlled health care and subsidizes green energy.

The White House plans a separate celebration of the bill signing in September with members of Congress.

The president has enjoyed a relaxed August after spending two weeks in quarantine during his long battle with the coronavirus.

He spent a weekend at his beach home in Delaware before working for two and half days at the White House and leaving for his week in Kiawah Island.

Biden was spotted Sunday riding his bike cautiously on the beach with Secret Service but refused to answer any questions from the press.

He has not answered any questions from reporters since the FBI’s controversial raid on former President Donald Trump.

The White House expressed concerns in a publicly released memo this week that previous presidents typically face a “slump” in August, outlining a plan to prevent the “momentum killer” and turn it into a “momentum builder.”
