Mel C showed off her chic sense of style as she attended day four of Wimbledon in London on Thursday.

The Spice Girls star, 48, put on a leggy display for the outing as she donned a pair of bright orange shorts which she wore with a matching blazer.

The hitmaker also wore a low-cut top for the outing while she added height to her frame with open-toed beige heels.

Mel – whose full name is Melanie Chisolm – styled her brunette locks into loose waves for the day.

The star appeared in good spirits as she enjoyed the match from the stands alongside her pals.

The outing comes after Mel recently hinted the Spice Girls could play Glastonbury next year.

The iconic 90s girl group, also comprising Mel B (Scary), Geri Horner (Ginger) and Emma Bunton (Baby), reunited for a tour in 2019, without Victoria Beckham (Posh).

Mel C spoke to BBC Entertainment Correspondent Colin Paterson live from the festival in Somerset, on Thursday.

She said: ‘It’s the dream, the absolute dream, yeah, we would love to do it. You know what, the girls and I, we have chatted about it.

‘You know, it’s the biggest stage in the world, we have the best festival in the world right here.’

Quizzed on whether they could persuade the fashion designer to do the hit festival with them, she replied: ‘Hmm, I have a good feeling.’

The Who I Am singer previously urged fans to start a petition to campaign for them to be booked for the festival.

Speaking on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast last year, she said: ‘I don’t think we’ve been asked in all honesty, we haven’t been asked to do it, but I do believe it could be the thing that would see all five girls on stage. So should we start a petition?’

Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi

This period drama, starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead, was a much-awaited film simply because no mainstream film on freedom fighter Jhansi Laxmibai had been made in recent times. Manikarnika received praise from critics as well as audiences. It was directed by Krish, who shared directorial credits with Kangana. The rest of the cast, including Mishti Chakraborty, Ankita Lokhande, Atul Kulkarni, Jisshu Sengupta, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and others gave life to the film with their performances.

Uri: The Surgical Strike

Vicky Kaushal won not only his first National Award, but also the hearts of audiences with Uri: The Surgical Strike . Uri was based on India’s retaliation to the 2016 attack near the town of Uri, in Jammu & Kashmir. It was helmed by first time director Aditya Dhar, and it also starred Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari, Mohit Raina and others. The film won three other National Awards, for Best Director, Best Audiography, and Best Music Director (Background Score).

Article 15

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Article 15 broke the streak of mainstream Bollywood films holding back from addressing the caste-system. The film featured a moving performance by Ayushmann Khurrana, who won his first National Film Award for Best Actor. Article 15 was much appreciated for its sensitive but impactful portrayal of the subject of caste-system and allied social ills.

72 Hours: Martyr Who Never Died

This biographical drama, based on the life of rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, who fought against the encroaching Chinese army alone for 72 hours, during the Sino-Indian War in 1962, was received positively by critics and audiences. 72 Hours: Martyr Who Never Died was directed by Avinash Dhyani and also starred him in the lead role. The film also starred Mukesh Tiwari, Alka Amin, Shishir Sharma and others.

Super 30

A biographical drama based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, who devoted his life to tutor underprivileged students for the IIT-JEE exams, with incredible results. Hrithik Roshan gave one of his career best performances as Anand Kumar in Super 30, which was directed by Vikas Bahl. Super 30 also starred Pankaj Tripathi, Mrunal Thakur, Amit Sadh, and others.

Sonchiriya

Sonchiriya, a movie about a band of dacoits, turned out to be more than just that. Touching upon topics of caste, religion, gender, and politics, this film, based in the heartland of India, was showered with praises for being very moving. The cast, including Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana, were particularly hailed for their gripping performances.

Talking about patriotism, our Indian film industry never misses any chance to show ‘Desh Bhakti’ through films and TV shows. We even have our veteran actor Manoj Kumar, who is known for making various films on patriotism in his career, and is hence known as the Bharat Kumar. But do you know, South Indian movie fans also have their own Bharat Kumar?

Yes, actor Vijayaraj Alagarswami aka Vijayakanth is known for making films on patriotism in Tamil as well as other South languages. The 69-year-old actor has worked in numerous films in his career and known for showing ‘Desh Bhakti’ on the silver screen. He is right now active in politics and formed Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK). But back in the day, he used to impress audiences with his patriotic act on the screen. So, let’s have a look at 5 patriotic films of Vijayakanth:

Vallarasu

Vallarasu directed by N Maharajan, set an example of patriotism in the most unique way. The film shows Vijayakanth as an honest Deputy Commissioner of Police who arrests a terrorist from Pakistan. For the nation, Vallarasu fights a rich man, who tries to destabilise the country. The film turned out to be a blockbuster in the year 2000 and was also remade in Hindi as Indian starring Sunny Deol, Shilpa Shetty and Rahul Dev in key roles.

Arasangam

The 2008 superhit Tamil film, Arasangam starring Vijayakanth established desh bhakti in today’s youth. The film deals with the conspiracy against the country’s big companies’ CEOs and Scientists, who get assassinated by a group of people in Chennai. Vijayakanth who played criminologist and IPS trainer in the film investigates and finds out who is the person behind the plot to destabilise India.

Narasimha

2001 Tamil action film, Narasimha is yet another patriotic film of Vijayakanth which proves that he is the Bharat Kumar of South India. The film tells the story of an undercover army officer who tries to foil terrorists’ plan to kill the chief of defence services. The film also stars Isha Koppikar, Raghuvaran, Rahul Dev and others in pivotal roles.

Sethupathi IPS

Sethupathi IPS (1994) was one of the most entertaining patriotic films in Kollywood. Vijayakanth plays the titular role in the film and fights against a terrorist, who plans a terror strike on the Prime Minister of India during a meeting with chief ministers of other states in Chennai. The action-drama keeps you hooked and all thanks to Vijayakanth’s acting. It also stars Meena in the female lead.

Ulavuthurai

Vijayakanth-starrer Ulavuthurai (1994) deals with the crime happening in International waters. Vijayakanth, who plays a navy officer in the film, is asked to solve the tricky murder case in which several people mysteriously die in the sea. In the end, he solves the mystery and saves the nation from the problem. The film also stars Meena and Sanghavi in pivotal roles.

Indian television shows have become synonymous to saas-bahu sagas. But way back in 80s-90s television had given us some memorable shows, especially the patriotic shows. Many actors, who appeared in these shows, are big stars now! Here is the list of five patriotic shows that are a must-watch!

Fauji

Shah Rukh Khan debuted on television with Fauji . The show was aired on Doordarshan and revolved around the life of Abhimanyu Rai (played by SRK) in a commando school. It was a light and engaging show. The direction, unique script and superb acting attracted the viewers.

Sea Hawks

Sea Hawks that starred Om Puri, R Madhavan, Niki Aneja, Milind Soman, Anup Soni, Simone Singh, Manoj Pahwa and others in the lead roles was aired on DD Metro in the late 90s. It was number one show for almost a year. With Annirudhya Mitra of UTV being its executive producer, the Anubhav Sinha directorial show was based on the life of Indian Coast Guard officers. It was the only Indian TV show that was shot on land, air, water and under the water in various locations including Mumbai, Goa, Daman and Mauritius.

Aarohan

Aarohan , which was aired on DD National, was written and produced by Pallavi Joshi, who also played the lead role, Nikita Sachdev. The show takes place in a make-believe world about women cadet joining Indian Navy, as women were not allowed to join Indian Navy back then. The show starred Shefali Shah, Anju Mahendru, Satyen Kappu, Amit Behl, Arun Bali and Harsh Chhaya in the lead roles. R Madhavan also did a cameo in the show.

Samandar

Samandar depicted the story of Indian navy. The show produced by Wing Commander Anup Singh Bedi VSM (Ret.), supported by jatt musician/singer Col (Dr) Sultan Singh Malik from the Indian Army, featured Vineeta Malik, Samir Soni, Girish Malik and Aman Verma in the lead roles. Real Indian Navy officers also made special appearances on the show.
