SAS star Ant Middleton ‘threatened to quit three times’ and ‘acted like Hollywood star on set’ before C4 axed him

March 4, 2021 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

TELLY tough guy Ant Middleton threatened to quit SAS: Who Dares Wins three times, show insiders claim.

Ant’s numerous threats that he was going to walk away from the Channel 4 series became his “party act”, the show insider tells The Sun Online.

Earlier this week, Ant told The Sun: “I have decided to walk away from it, it is clear Channel 4 and I have fallen out over it and that is regretful. I have butted heads with some of the team but ultimately it is out of a passion for what I wanted to do and that’s make the best show possible.”

A source claims: “Ant loved to be the star attraction and seemed to think the show needed him more than he needed it – and would act like that on set.

“He threatened to quit on several occasions. It felt like some sort of party act, like he was untouchable.

“He did the same again in between filming the civilian and celebrity versions, which are filmed back-to-back.

“But no one believed his quit threats. No one is bigger than the show.”

SAS: Who Dares Wins fans were left stunned on Monday night when Channel 4 announced they had dropped Ant from the show .

In a statement, bosses said: “Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

“Following a number of discussions Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again.”

It is believed they are referencing a series of controversial tweets Ant posted during the Black Lives Matter protests last year.

Ant has since hit out, calling Channel 4 “desperate and reckless ” during an interview on Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

The ex Special Forces sniper, 40, called the announcement “smoke and mirrors”, saying he’d already told show bosses he wasn’t coming back because the factual entertainment series had become too “inauthentic”.

He said: “Channel 4’s statement is very reckless and desperate, I have filmed two more series of SAS since the Black Lives Matter tweets – it’s all smoke and mirrors.

“Since the last episode of SAS: Who Dares Wins it became a half-scripted reality show; full control was taken from me and after that show I said I am not going to film any more, I wanted to part in a positive way and they knew I was going.

“All of a sudden they drop this bomb about me being axed and ultimately what they are doing is protecting their brand – they knew I was going, they got in before me.”

Ant, meanwhile, has also told The Sun he feels the series – which is based on the brutal SAS selection process – has become too much of a “reality show “.

“I think that ultimately what has happened is that the people that make the show and I have very different opinions on where the show started and where it is going in the future.

“When I started making the show and as I was involved from the beginning, it was very simple and at its core it was to show what Special Forces’ selection was.

“And I am sad to say that in recent years the producers of the show have drifted from this and it has become more of a reality show than I feel comfortable with.”

But the insider has claimed, that despite his feelings about it becoming a “reality show”, Ant would “hog the camera and make it more Hollywood”.

“Ant’s been moaning about SAS becoming more like a reality show, but he’s the one that’s made it more over the top with his antics,” the source claimed.

“He’s created this Hollywood meets Big Brother sort of show with his personality, he has to be the centre of attention.

“He loved being the chief instructor and it was clear there was a pecking order, he would want the camera on him.

“But the reality is that Ant is working with guys who’ve had just as long as him in the Special Forces, some many years longer, they’re just as qualified as he is, if not more.”

The insider went on to claim: “While there’s no dispute that Ant knows what he’s talking about, others have also been there and done that. It’s like he felt threatened by their experience.

“As soon as Ant talks to camera, then some are scratching their heads as to why he’s making soldier life more like a movie than reality.”

The Sun Online has contacted Ant’s rep and C4 for comment.

Peugeot 308 GTI Or Sport Engineered Hot Hatch Already Ruled Out

March 19, 2021 by www.motor1.com Leave a Comment

An electric version is on the roadmap, though.

The new Peugeot 308 is undeniably one of the sharpest-looking hatchbacks on the European market. With 225 horsepower (168 kilowatts), the most powerful plug-in hybrid model is definitely not lacking in the power department, but it seems that it will remain the model’s range-topper going forward.

A new report from TopGear says there won’t be a 308 GTI or 308 Sport Engineered. And this is not just a speculation, as the information was confirmed to the publication by Jerome Micheron, Peugeot’s product director. “If you look at the market for sporty versions, and the CO2 regulations, it has collapsed,” he told TopGear .

There were early reports about a potential PHEV all-wheel-drive hot hatch based on the new 308. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen as Micheron said Peugeot doesn’t “see a market yet” and “it adds extra weight.” Simply put, the 225-hp (168-kW) plug-in 308 will basically remain the C-segment model’s top dog.

One thing missing from Peugeot’s press release at the launch of the new 308 was information about a potential all-electric variant. It turns out it’s “in our roadmap,” as Micheron confirmed to the British publication, but way before that, the French automaker will release the wagon version of the new 308 .

When starting the development, Peugeot had to choose from two available platforms. The first one was the architecture that Citroen used for the C4, but it was considered too basic for the more upmarket 308. Eventually, Peugeot opted for the EMP platform, which gives more freedom in terms of design, technologies, and electrification.

The new 308 will be produced in France and will start arriving at Peugeot’s dealers around Europe from the second half of the year.

Judges Restore British Citizenship to Three Adult Islamic State Defectors

March 20, 2021 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

Immigration judges have restored the British citizenship of three British-Bangladeshi Islamic State defectors, one of whom was not even born in the country.

Media coverage of Islamic State defectors stripped of their citizenship — due to having dual nationality or eligibility for another nationality — has focused almost unwaveringly on Shamima Begum , a British-born daughter of Bangladeshi migrants who left for Syria aged 15. However, Begum is by no means the only jihadist recruit seeking to return to Britain from the broken caliphate.

Many have already returned successfully, with most going unprosecuted and being left at large in the country, while others are progressing cases against the Boris Johnson government’s piecemeal efforts to keep them out in the courts.

Three such jihadists, about whom the public know little due to their identities being kept private, have just won their citizenship back, according to a Telegraph report .

UK-born women C3 and C4 and Bangladesh-born man C7 may be able to return to Britain after the decision by the highly secretive Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC), a court that hears cases related to the government removing citizenship on grounds of national security.

SIAC based its decision on the fact that Bangladeshi law only allows people with a blood right to Bangladeshi citizenship to retain it until age 21 if they also have nationality elsewhere.

Home Secretary Priti Patel is said to have stripped the three jihadists after they reached that age.

“C3, C4 and C7 have persuaded us that, on the dates when the decisions and the orders in their cases were made, they were not nationals of Bangladesh or any other state apart from the UK,” ruled Mr Justice Chamberlain on Thursday.

“This means that orders depriving them of their British citizenship would make them stateless,” he continued, insisting: “The Secretary of State [Priti Patel] had no power to make orders with that effect. For that reason – and that reason alone – the appeals against the decisions to make those orders succeed.”

“We are extremely disappointed with this judgment,” said a spokesman for the Patel-led Home Office — a familiar refrain from the department over the last 11 years of Conservative government, as judges have repeatedly blocked the removal of illegal aliens , drug dealers , and paedophiles from the country.

But there were belly laughs a plenty when she he belted out the hymn The Lord Is My Shepherd as one of the naked men swayed.

On the dating show, she baked and brought in a Victoria sponge.

She says: “There are lots of people that like to use food in the bedroom. My favourite happens to be clotted cream cake.”

Parishioner Judith later explained told how she preferred penises to be eight to 11 inches in length.

She also revealed she had a bit of a toe fetish, with some of her comments leaving host Anna Richardson lost for words.

Gogglebox stars hid behind their cushions but Stephen eventually told husband Daniel: “Everyone needs a bit of Judith in them.”

Viewers couldn’t get enough of their responses.

One posted “Watching the Goggleboxer’s reactions to Naked Attraction could be a full one hour show in itself. @C4Gogglebox#Gogglebox.”

Another tweeted: “#Goggleboxers and their reaction to saucy Judith have me howling!”

A third said: “That whole Naked Attraction section on #Gogglebox tonight was a crack up!!!!!!”

Breast cancer survivor Judith talked about her reasons for going on the show last year.
