RELIGIOUS gatherings in areas under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) will be limited to 10-percent capacity.
Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. revealed the limitation on Monday, a day after announcing that the National Capital Region (NCR), Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite and Laguna, collectively referred to as NCR Plus, will shift to the less stringent MECQ from April 12 to April 30.
Roque said local government units (LGUs) can, by themselves, raise the limit for religious assemblies to as high as 30 percent.
Under MECQ, people below 18 years old and over 65 years old and those with comorbidities must stay at home, but LGUs can bring the minimum age down to 15 years old.
Outdoor exercises such as jogging and biking will be allowed within the “general area” of an individual’s residence.
Outdoor and indoor sports courts including fitness studios and gyms will remain closed.
Public transportation will be allowed at a capacity and protocols in accordance with
The use of bikes as public transportation is encouraged.
Gatherings outside of residences are still prohibited except for necrological services and funerals, and only with immediate family members in attendance.
Entertainment venues such as bars, concert halls and theaters; indoor tourist attractions including libraries, museums and exhibits; and outdoor tourist attractions and amusement parks are still not allowed to open.
Indoor dining and personal care services also remain to be prohibited.
There will still be no face-to-face classes, Roque said.
Curfew in Metro Manila will be from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to the Metro Manila Council.
Other LGUs in the other NCR Plus areas have yet to announce their curfew hours.
Aside from the NCR Plus, the city of Santiago in Quirino and Abra will also be in MECQ until April 30.
Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Batangas, Tacloban City, Iligan City, Davao City, Lanao del Sur and Quezon will be under general community quarantine, while the rest of the country will be under the most lenient modified general community quarantine until April 30.
