The Capital Breakfast host has interviewed this year’s Islanders since they left the villa and he suggested Luca and Gemma might not have been too popular among their co-stars.
He told the Mirror Online: ‘What I’ve heard – weirdly when people have come and chatted to us – they’ve all said the same thing.
‘When I say ‘who did you get on with in the Villa’, it was quite telling no-one said Gemma or Luca. Everyone said Tasha and Andrew, do you know what I mean?’
The 29-year-old presenter also joked he doesn’t see ANY of this year’s couples going the distance – not even the champions Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.
‘None of them will last,’ he teased. ‘Nah, [Ekin-Su and Davide] nearly broke up about four times in the villa. I think they’re lovely – really, really lovely. I think Davide is my new best friend – we’ll get over the language barrier.’
Despite how much he loves the pair, he just doesn’t see a future for the couples who met on the ITV2 dating show.
He added: ‘Bless him, [Davide] didn’t have a Scooby what was going on when he came into the studio but it was quite funny… My favourite couple has been Davide and Ekin-Su, they were lovely – really nice. They can become a new machine, but do I think they’ll all last? No.’
Meanwhile, Luca, 23, has revealed he’s finally going to make Gemma, 19, his girlfriend after meeting her dad Michael.
During a recent appearance on Good Morning Britain, Gemma said they were ‘pretty much official’ but hadn’t ‘got a label on it’, and he insisted: ‘I will do it.’
He has since shared a video of himself enjoying an evening on holiday with Gemma, he said: ’Just out for an evening stroll with my girlfriend… psyche!’
Love Island can be streamed in full on ITV Hub now.
