How sex-mad supermodel Emily Ratajkowski’s love of app hook-ups & flings with boys AND girls snared Harry Styles

March 27, 2023 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

SHE shot to fame after stripping for a Robin Thicke pop video, posed topless with pal Kim Kardashian and even appeared in a “post-sex” snap with a former lover.

Now Emily Ratajkowski has been spotted snogging singer Harry Styles on the streets of Japan — just two weeks after she hung out with his most recent beau, actress Olivia Wilde , at the Vanity Fair Oscars party .

A fan snapped the former One Direction star enjoying a steamy clinch with Emily in Tokyo where he was performing.

But to those who know 31-year-old Emily , not one of these things will come as shocking news.

The model, who split from husband Sebastian Bear-McClard in July, is fast becoming Hollywood’s most sexually empowered star — championing female nudity and bisexuality — and being refreshingly open about her love life.

And while lothario Harry, 29, has dated a string of stunning women — including Kendall Jenner , Taylor Swift and Victoria’s Secret model Sara Sampaio — he may have met his match in free-spirited Emily.

Emily Ratajkowski said she ‘wouldn’t date Harry Styles’ before kiss

The London-born beauty wed Sebastian, 42, after a few dates in 2018, claiming it took just 30 seconds to make up her mind to marry him, and they share two-year-old son, Sylvester Apollo Bear .

But since the split, amid allegations the film producer was a “serial cheat”, Emily has enjoyed being “newly single for the first time in my life ever”, putting herself on celeb dating app Raya and kissing anyone she wants.

‘Grabbed and kissed him’

On one recent date with an unknown man, she revealed she made the first move because she wanted “to be kissed”.

She said: “I kind of grabbed him and kissed him,” before adding her date responded: “This is the kind of feminism I can get down with.”

BBC star confirms they’re expecting a baby with partner of 15 years

After reportedly briefly dating Brad Pitt , she was seen kissing DJ Orazio Rispo in October before moving on to infamous ladies’ man Pete Davidson , an ex of her pal Kim Kardashian .

The pair were seen together on several dates, including at a New York Knicks basketball game , in November. “Pete and Emily have been talking for a couple of months now and they both really like each other,” a source revealed at the time.

Although she never spoke about the romance, she sang Pete’s praises while he was dating Kim, in 2021, saying: “Obviously women find him very attractive. He seems super-charming. He’s lovely. He looks good!”

But the romance with the 29-year-old comedian seemed to be over in December when Emily was seen kissing New York artist Jack Greer .

Later Emily appeared to take a swipe at Pete and Sebastian by saying she “attracts the worst men”.

She also claimed men feel “emasculated” by her success and start to resent her and “tear you down”.

Earlier this year, she moved on to US comedian Eric Andre , and on Valentine’s Day he shared a series of risque photos on his social media.

In one shot, which appears to be taken after a romp, he is seen lying naked on a couch holding a glass of wine while Emily, wearing only a bra, can be seen in the mirror behind taking the shot.

In a recent post on TikTok she hinted she had ended her “situationship” with Andre, and said the best thing to do was “find another one”.

But it’s not just men that the model mum is interested in — Emily’s apparent sexual awakening has also seen her seeking a “lady crush.”

In a frank interview in Harper’s Bazaar she said: “I think sexuality is on a sliding scale. I don’t really believe in straight people.”

In October, she noted a TikTok trend which suggested women who own a green couch are bisexual.

She said: “My girlfriend came over and was like, “Have you seen the green couch thing?” She was laughing because my green couch is so big.”

She then revealed she was hoping to find both men and women on elite dating app Raya when she signed up last year after a “glass of wine”.

“I was like, ‘f*** it’. I was feeling defiant because so many people told me not to get it,” she revealed on her podcast, High Low With EmRata.

She added that when people question why she is on the app, she replies: “I’m a woman, I’m a free, independent single woman”, adding: “I’ve got a few direct requests from women which is exciting.”

Although the newfound freedom means she is exploring her sexuality and new relationships, Emily has never been shy in putting forward her views on women’s bodies and their right to go naked.

‘I think sexuality is on a sliding scale. I don’t really believe in straight people.

Emily Ratajkowski

In 2016, she leapt to the defence of her friend Kim Kardashian after the reality star caused a Twitter row by posting a naked selfie.

When Kim was slammed by stars including Chloe Moretz and Bette Midler , Emily tweeted “Her body, her career. Sexist bullshit.”

To drive the point home further she later posed with Kim in a topless selfie taken in a bathroom, with both women flipping their middle fingers.

Accompanying the snap, Emily wrote: “However sexual our bodies may be, we need to have the freedom as women to choose when and how we express our sexuality.”

Last year, Emily bravely called out the sexual abuse she claims to have suffered during her career in her book, My Body.

Publicly attacked

She accused singer Robin Thicke of groping her breasts on the set of his X-rated 2013 Blurred Lines video, which made her a household name, saying after the alleged assault she “felt naked for the first time that day”.

She also claimed to have been sexually assaulted by US photographer Jonathan Leder at a 2012 shoot, which he has denied.

While Emily has been enjoying post-split freedom, Harry too has a string of romances behind him with famous exes reportedly including models Kendall Jenner, Georgia Fowler , Nadine Leopold , and Sara Sampaio, as well as singers Taylor Swift and Nicole Scherzinger .

Emily and Harry’s public clinch comes after weeks of the pair growing closer, friends say.

And the PDA in a Tokyo car park follows soon after his romance with Emily’s actress pal Olivia.

Olivia, 39, met Harry on the set of 2022 movie Don’t Worry Darling, which she directed.

She split with partner Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis in 2020 but was later forced to clarify that her relationship with Harry had started afterwards.

In a recent interview, Emily defended Olivia, saying she felt “protective” of women who are publicly attacked.

“I’m in a place where, from my life experiences, what feels affirming and makes sense is really believing and forgiving women,” she told Elle magazine.

But while Olivia and Harry decided to take a break from their two-year romance in November, pals close to the actress said she found the split “difficult”.

Pictures of her friend Emily kissing ex Harry might be painful for Olivia — coming just two weeks after the two women spent time together at the Oscars .

Netflix users discover ‘secret menu’ that has hundreds of hidden movies and shows – here’s how to unlock them now

March 27, 2023 by www.dailymail.co.uk Leave a Comment

If you are sick of flicking through the same shows and movies on Netflix, there’s a workaround.

The streaming giant has a secret menu containing hundreds of hidden titles not on the main platform.

The alternative catalog can be accessed using codes associated with a specific genre, such as High Brow Horror, Irreverent TV Comedies and 90-minute movies

There are two ways to access the secret collections. You can do it from any desktop by typing ‘netflix.com/browse/genre/’ into the URL and adding a unique ID code.

Alternatively, if you use Netflix on a TV, you can simply type in the code to the ‘search’ bar. It does not work on mobile or tablets.

DailyMail.com has compiled a list of all the codes at the bottom of this article:

There are hundreds of movies and shows tucked away in a secret menu only accessible with unique codes

The codes are numbers that represent categories that are tucked in the Netflix library and link to content that was offered in the company’s early days.

On the main site or app, Netflix uses an algorithm that customizes each subscriber’s homepage experience by collecting user interests and viewing history data.

It comes as Netflix makes headlines worldwide for all the wrong reasons.

The struggling site announced it was cracking down on password sharing this year, despite using the feature as a promotional tool years prior. A full ban is expected to happen this month in the US.

The company shared the news in a letter to shareholders, noting that ‘widespread account sharing’ has exceeded over 100 million viewers.

These individuals, however, will be able to transfer their profiles to a new paid account, allowing them to carry over their preferences.

The sharing ban comes in response to its first subscriber loss in more than a decade – its customer base fell by 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2023.

The list is accessed using codes associated with a specific genre, such as 90-minute movies, High Brow Horror and Irreverent TV Comedies

And the famously ad-free website introduced a cheaper tier that includes commercials in November 2022, the $6.99 a month ‘Basic with Ads’ option, which differs from the standard $9.99 account.

Advertisements are either 15 or 30 seconds long and play before and during shows and movies.

And leading up to the recent ban on password sharing, the streaming service revealed plans for a paid sharing option.

This will be for multiple users on the same account.

Under the new rules, people watching Netflix using someone else’s account must create their own logins and pay for their own access.

To enable people to share an account, ‘paid sharing’ will be added, allowing multiple users but costing less than a full subscription.

Accounts already come with five ‘profiles,’ but these are solely for use by members of the same household.

‘Every account comes with five profiles that can be used by any member of the household,’ a Netflix spokesperson said.

The new option comes if people wish to share their Netflix account with friends and family living elsewhere.

What are Netflix’s secret genre codes?

There are secret codes that can unlock dozens of hidden shows on Netflix.

To access the secret codes, put the code at the end of www.netflix.com/browse/genre or enter the code into the streaming service’s search bar

How to customise subtitles and closed captions in Netflix

March 22, 2023 by www.gadgetsnow.com Leave a Comment

Online streaming giant Netflix offers a wide range of content including TV shows, movies, anime and more. It also lets users watch shows in various supported languages through language audio, subtitles and closed captions. Additionally, users can customise the font, text size, shadow and background colour of subtitles and closed captions. For this, it offers six types of different fonts, three types of text sizes (small, medium and large), four types of shadows and eight colour options for background, window and shadow.

Subtitles and closed captions text customisation
Users could already customise text for subtitles and closed captions by accessing Netflix and making the changes on a browser. This would reflect on other platforms, too. Recently, the company incorporated this ability into the Netflix TV app as well.

The countries in which the primary language is Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Romanian, Thai or Traditional Chinese languages do not have customised subtitles option as of yet. Moreover, the feature may also not be there in certain older devices.

How to change appearance of Netflix subtitles and closed captions on TV

  1. Open the Netflix app on your TV and log in.
  2. Put on a TV show or any other video content.

Amazon’s New Chromecast Competitor Is Just $20 Until Wednesday

October 27, 2014 by gizmodo.com Leave a Comment

Amazon just announced its very own (crazy cheap) $40 Chromecast competitor, the Fire TV Stick. And if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you have until Wednesday to pick one up for a mere $19.

Wednesday 12:50PM

More specifically, Prime members have 40 hours—or until 9am ET on Wednesday—to pick up what’s actually a pretty sweet deal, considering the Fire TV Stick actually has twice the memory of Chromecast. And while the new HDMI dongle does give you access via the voice-control-capable Fire TV Remote App , you won’t have to rely on a smartphone; a Fire TV remote is, thankfully, included. Of course, if you want to upgrade to a voice-controlled remote, that’ll set you back another $30—or nearly double the cost of the device itself.

In addition to giving you access to apps like Netflix and Amazon Instant Video (obviously), the Fire TV Stick also lets you mirror your tablet or smartphone screen on your TV, assuming you’re using either an Android or Fire-powered device. And if you do choose to fling audio or video onto your TV, you can use the Second Screen X-Ray feature to “learn more about TV shows and movies.” Which is a little gimmicky, sure, but not a bad thing to have when available.

The Fire TV Stick will also give you access to features like ASAP, Amazon’s own little attempt at adding convenience by predicting what you’ll want to watch. Which was also a feature of Fire TV which hasn’t been quite the breakaway hit Amazon was hoping for. So while features like ASAP are nice, they’re also probably not what’s going to set the Fire TV Stick apart from the pack—especially considering its more substantial cousin is trailing behind Chromecast and Roku 3 in Amazon’s own top sellers. Rather, the selling point here is price more than anything—at least in these first 48 hours. You know, that or whether or not you’re someone who wants to play Flappy Bird on their TV .

Sonos Era 300 review: Spatial audio finally arrives

March 27, 2023 by appleinsider.com Leave a Comment

Sonos Era 300

AppleInsider may earn an affiliate commission on purchases made through links on our site.

In mid-March, Sonos debuted not one but two new speakers. The Sonos Era 100 is a slightly improved version of the Sonos One, while the Era 300 is most similar to the Play Five.

It’s not the cheapest or most expensive standalone speaker in the Sonos lineup, but it is the first to support spatial audio outside the Arc soundbar.

Sonos Era 300 – A new, unique design

With the Sonos Era 100, the design didn’t deviate much from the Sonos One. Instead, it grew about an inch taller and rounded off the corners.

Sonos Era 300 versus Era 100
Sonos Era 300 versus Era 100

On the other hand, Era 300 has a wholly unique look, unlike anything in the Sonos portfolio. It has a massive front-facing grille with a secondary curved grille that wraps from one side, over the top, and down the other.

There are six drivers pushing out audio on Era 300; A front-facing tweeter, a sub and woofer out the left and right, and a final upward-facing tweet for the overhead channel.

Sonos Era 300 exploded view

It’s adopted a tapered design that leaves the center floating as it expands to the front and back. There’s no other speaker that can strike the same pose.

A pair of silicone feet sit on the bottom to help stifle any rumbling from the six internal drivers. Speakers push audio out the front, to the sides, and out the top.

Mirophone toggle
Microphone toggle

Around the back, there is a new Bluetooth toggle button. With a press, music can stream from a paired Bluetooth device rather than over Wi-Fi.

There’s also a USB-C port for line-in audio, though the adapter is an additional purchase. Some could make the case the analog audio adapter should be in the box, but it’s probably so niche that it would contribute quite a bit of e-waste.

Sonos uses a standard C8 power input — the one that looks like a figure-8, but has its proprietary cable. It’s brilliant because you can swap the cord for any off-the-shelf cable, but you get added benefit when using the one bundled in the box.

Custom power cable

The cable fits perfectly into the round hole on the back of the speaker and features a right-angle end, and routes down, allowing the speaker to fit tightly against a wall.

Finally, there is a toggle switch to mute the onboard assistant. This switch physically disconnects the power from the microphone for added security for those who don’t want a smart speaker listening in their home.

Atop sits a reimagined set of controls, a welcomed upgrade over the same capacitive controls on nearly every other Sonos speaker.

The most significant change is a newly-indented slider that you can use to adjust the volume quickly. The groove helps your finger find where the volume slider is without having to look.

If there was any speaker maker to craft an experience akin to Apple’s, it’s Sonos. Assuming the speaker is plugged in, a card will rise from the bottom when you open the Sonos app.

This mimics Apple’s setup for its accessories like AirPods and HomePod. It walks you through the basic steps of adding the speaker to your Wi-Fi and assigning it a name.

If you have a pair of Era 300s, they can be paired as rears for a Sonos soundbar if assigned to the same room. Otherwise, they can be grouped with other Sonos speakers.

Within the Sonos app, you can adjust all your settings, including boosting the treble or bass. In addition, there are options for streaming services like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and several others.

These music services stream directly to the speakers and don’t route through your phone. That’s how some support Dolby Atmos, which won’t work when casting over AirPlay 2.

Since we’re on the topic, Era 300 and Era 100, both still support AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. HomeKit lets you incorporate the speakers into smart home scenes.

These can be playing pump-up music when you go to work out, lowering the volume in the living room when the baby’s “good night” scene is triggered, or pausing the audio when you leave the house.

Sonos has its own onboard assistant with speakers you can use to control music by voice. If you prefer, you can opt for Amazon Alexa instead.

Apple allows Siri to be baked into third-party speakers but don’t expect to see the iPhone-maker’s assistant on a Sonos speaker anytime soon. Based on Sonos’s testimony before congress, it has an issue with Apple’s HomePod requirement.

Audio takes to a new level

The flagship feature of the Era 300 is its support for spatial audio — both streaming as a standalone speaker and when paired with select Sonos sound bars.

In our testing, we only had one Sonos Era 300 before launch, so we did not get to test Dolby Atmos with any video content. However, Dolby Atmos audio is supported for shows and movies on your television when two Era 300s get paired with an Arc or second-generation Beam.

Instead, we tested audio over Bluetooth, AirPlay, and streaming from the Sonos app. Pre-launch, only Amazon Music supports Dolby Atmos 3D audio, though Apple Music will launch Spatial Audio on Sonos on March 28.

The audio, as a whole, sounded fantastic. There is a clear separation between channels, pumping bass that you can feel in your chest at higher volumes and great stereo representation.

While sitting in front of the speaker listening to Come Together by the Beatles, we got chills as the guitar riff came in mid-track. The bass-heavy track was remastered in 2019 and sounds wonderful from Era 300.

We could hear the lead vocals coming from the center channel while the bass line bumped along in the background. Once the guitars came in, it expanded the soundstage coming from the left and the right at once.

Unfortunately, in many of our audio tracks, we didn’t hear much more than stereo plus a center channel. There wasn’t much that came “above” or “behind” us that we should have heard with a spatial audio setup.

We’ll be testing again with more songs on Apple Music once it launches, and it will do nothing but improve the already-outstanding Sonos Arc once we nab a second speaker to pair with it.

Compared to HomePod, the bass felt a bit tighter, and it overall sounded like it had more output. The stereo separation was also better on the Sonos Era 300 compared to a single HomePod.

Should you buy the Sonos Era 300?

Between Era 100 and Era 300, the latter is far more interesting. It has a striking appearance, booming audio, and first-time support for spatial audio.

In all our testing, we’ve loved every bit of this speaker. We’d have loved for a bit more overhead audio while playing Dolby Atmos-enabled music, but it’s otherwise exceeded expectations.

Compared to the more expensive Sonos Play Five, we’d choose the Era 300.

What’s most confounding is the Sonos pricing strategy. Despite only slight pricing differences, Sonos has kept both the Sonos Five and Sonos One in the lineup while introducing the Era 300 and Era 100.

They also pitch a pair of Era 300s as companions to the second-gen Sonos Beam, along with the Arc. That means you’d be shelling out $900 on a couple of Era 300s to go with a $500 soundbar to act as rears.

Sure, they enable Dolby Atmos on the Beam, but it still seems like an expensive upgrade.
