Donald Trump ‘concerned’ that wife Melania could be a possible informant for FBI raid

August 12, 2022 by www.mirror.co.uk Leave a Comment

Former President Donald Trump is reportedly concerned some of his own family members like his wife Melania Trump are acting as moles for the FBI after raid on his home earlier this week.

Someone close to the 45th president, who saw FBI agents raid his Mar-a-Lago residence in Southern Florida earlier this week, reportedly tipped off authorities about more documents at the resort.

Among other classified material, FBI agents are believed to have been looking specifically for documents about nuclear weapons.

It was not specified if these particular documents involved the US’ own nuclear arsenal or that of another country.

Speculation has mean fingers pointed at Trump’s family, including wife Melania (

The Bureau had to seek approval from a federal judge to carry out the August 10 search, meaning they had to demonstrate ] why they thought evidence of illegality would be found.

Part of that evidence, it is believed, may have been sources close to Trump.

Reports of the ex-President’s paranoia over the issue appear to be prevalent and Rolling Stone magazine said he believes he is being wiretapped by current President Joe Biden .

One official told Newsweek the raid was based on the information given to the Bureau by a trusted source, known in a Wall Street Journal report as ‘CI-1’.

George Conway, the lawyer and husband of former Trump aide Kellyanne Conway, took to Twitter to wonder who the source could be.

Former deputy assistant FBI director Peter Strzok responded: “And -2? And -3? So much paranoia in a mole hunt, no one to trust, so much to do, so much to lose, so many walls closing in so fast. [also, might be Melanie].”

Supporters flocked to Mar-a-Lago after Trump reacted angrily to the raid (

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) said before the raid: “In mid-January 2022, NARA arranged for the transport from the Trump Mar-a-Lago property in Florida to the National Archives of 15 boxes that contained Presidential records, following discussions with President Trump’s representatives in 2021.”

Under the Presidential Records Act, US presidents are legally required not to destroy evidence. Trump is reported to have had a habit of tearing up documents.

The same documents had to be preserved, meaning it is alleged aides had to tape them back together in order for them to be sent to the National Archives.

Sources say the FBI wanted to conduct the raid without Trump there to avoid politicising it (

Trump has heavily politicised the raid, claiming it was carried out by the “deep state” against him.

Newsweek sources explained that the raid was schedulde to occur when Trump was not present in order to avoid this, but this did not happen.

“I know that there is much speculation out there that this is political persecution, but it is really the best and the worst of the bureaucracy in action,” they said.

“They wanted to punctuate the fact that this was a routine law enforcement action, stripped of any political overtones, and yet got exactly the opposite.”

The FBI insists there was no political motive behind the raid and were trying to avoid security being breached and the documents being destroyed.

Donald Trump hosting Japanese PM at $200,000 Mar-a-Lago ‘Winter White House’ raises ethics questions

February 12, 2017 by www.mirror.co.uk Leave a Comment

Donald Trump hosted the Prime Minister of Japan at his $200,000 membership Florida golf resort this weekend, raising serious ethics questions.

While Trump insisted he was to pay Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s hotel bill at his Mar-a-Lago resort to avoid profiting from the visit, it’s likely the business will still benefit from its close association with the presidency.

Trump has repeatedly referred to the exclusive hotel and golf club complex as the ‘Winter White House’ – and has spent already spent two weekends there in his first month in office.

As long as Trump or his business does not accept any payment from the Japanese government, he is not in direct breach of the US constitution.

But in a week which saw Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway hawk daughter Ivanka Trump’s clothing line standing in front of the official White House seal, it’s led many to question whether the huge global publicity the visit will give Mar-A-Lago had anything to do with the decision to host Prime Minister Shinzo there.

Washington University’s Kathleen Clark told NPR on Friday: “Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago establishment is a commercial establishment, and he has a financial interest in promoting that business.

“The fact that everybody in the world, every media organization in the world is going to mention Mar-a-Lago because the Japanese prime minister is there with the president.”

Clark added: “I just want to acknowledge that this is just yet another example that we don’t know whether he was motivated by his own financial interest or his concern about the American public.”

Presidents usually either host foreign leaders at the White House or at Camp David, the US government owned retreat in Maryland’s Catoctin Mountains.

Donald Trump’s brazen lie about Charles and Diana to try and help his business

May 9, 2019 by www.mirror.co.uk Leave a Comment

Donald Trump once fed a brazen lie to the press about Prince Charles and Princess Diana in an effort to boost his business.

The President of the United States lost hundreds of millions of dollars throughout the 80s and 90s, according to a new investigation into his finances by the New York Times .

And the then-real estate mogul would frequently feed stories to the press in an effort to drum up interest in his failing businesses.

One of them, it has been noted, ran in the New York Times which Trump has repeatedly called ‘failing’ and ‘fake news’ since his election in 2016.

In 1994 Trump told the press that Princess Diana and Charles would be joining his Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida. It made headline news throughout the country despite being 100% false.

“I handled the applications myself,” Trump told the New York Times. “More than 250 memberships have been sold, even before the start of the campaign.”

“We are raising the initiation fee to $75,000 and shortly thereafter to $100,000,” he added.

Buckingham Palace slammed the report as “complete and utter rubbish.”

“It’s complete nonsense, they haven’t joined the club,” declared a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace, reports BuzzFeed.

“The prince and princess have not paid any money to join,” the palace is reported as saying at the time. “If Mr Trump has made them honorary members then that’s up to him.”

Trump did not get away with it – he was later confronted by New York Magazine and swiftly backtracked: “I didn’t say they signed, I said they were members.”

A correction was later issued in the original New York Times article:

“Correction: January 26, 1995, Thursday: A report in the Chronicle column on Dec. 28 about the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla., which is owned by Donald Trump, referred erroneously to a transaction involving the Prince and Princess of Wales,” it reads.

“Mr. Trump said yesterday that the Prince and Princess were offered honorary free memberships and that they had not responded to the offer. They did not apply to join or pay an initiation fee.”

It was not the only time Trump, who ‘claimed he could have had sex with Princess Diana’ in interview months after her death, lied about the royals.

A report that Princess Diana wanted an apartment in Trump Tower was rubbished by the palace.

“The princess has no intention of buying any property in America or of moving to America,” said a palace spokesman at the time.

That rumour had originated in the New York Post and attributed to an anonymous source – thought to be Trump himself.

In The Lost Tycoon, Trump biographer Henry Hurt III quoted the business baron: “Here’s how I work, I call the society editor [of one of the New York tabloids] and tell them that Princess Diana and Prince Charles are going to purchase an apartment in Trump tower.

“And they, in turn, investigate the source, call Buckingham Palace.

“And the comment is, ‘no comment.’

“Which means that it appears to the public that Princess Di and Prince Charles are going to purchase an apartment in the Trump Tower.”

FBI seizes Donald Trump’s three passports, former President claims in social media rant

August 15, 2022 by www.mirror.co.uk Leave a Comment

Donald Trump has claimed his passports were “stolen” in the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago last week, which could mean he can’t leave the country.

The former President moaned the FBI’s taking was an “assault on a political opponent”.

Taking to his own Truth Social website on Monday, he wrote: “Wow.

“In the raid by the FBI or Mar-a-Lago, they stole my three Passports (one expired), along with everything else. This is an assault on a political opponent at a level never before seen in our country. Third World.”

It is not clear which passports were taken during the FBI search of his Florida property, but Trump is known to have a regular blue passport issued to US citizens and a red ‘diplomatic’ one.

He would have received a diplomatic passport as president.

If all his documents have been removed it would render him marooned within the States and unable to travel.

Trump is being investigated under America’s espionage act, according to the warrant that led to his home being “raided”.

According to the document that was unsealed last week, agents were authorised to search the “45 Office” – which refers to Trump being America’s 45th president.

They were also cleared to look at “all storage rooms” and all rooms used by Trump and his staff in which boxes could be stored at his Mar-A-Lago home.

Agents were looking for classified documents suspected of being taken from the White House when Trump left office in January last year.

Anyone found guilty of such an offence faces up to five years in prison for each count.

Representatives for Trump have said he had the authority as president to de-classify all of the recovered documents before he left office and did so.

Donald Trump Warns ‘Terrible Things Are Going to Happen’ Unless Political Temperature Cools; Blames FBI Raid

August 15, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

President Donald Trump on Monday warned the temperature of the political climate in United States had reached dangerous levels after the FBI raided his home at Mar-a-Lago, offering the Justice Department his assistance in cooling the simmering anger in the country.

The president commented on social media Sunday evening that he had observed “great simmering anger” while spending time with a group of people.

He wrote:

Just left a large gathering of people and all they could talk about was the complete and total stranglehold that the Radical Left Democrats have over the DOJ & FBI. It shouldn’t be that way. Nobody goes after BLM, ANTIFA, or the rest, despite murder, beatings, and burning down large sections of cities, a very unfair double standard. They definitely won’t attack the home of a former Democrat President, nor should they. It is all so out of control, great simmering anger!

Trump spoke to Fox News on Monday, again pointing to the “tremendous anger” surging around the country after the raid.

“There has never been a time like this where law enforcement has been used to break into the house of a former president of the United States, and there is tremendous anger in the country—at a level that has never been seen before, other than during very perilous times,” Trump said.

He said he would be willing to assist in any attempt to reduce the anger in the country when asked by Fox News if he would help bring down the “temperature” of the political climate.

Trump explained he “had his representatives reach out to the Justice Department to offer to help amid outrage over” the raid on Mar-a-Lago.

He pointed to President Joe Biden’s Justice Department as responsible for fueling the anger from his supporters but said he had not heard from any of the officials about addressing it.

But he repeated that the FBI raid has emerged as a point of high tension with his supporters.

“The country is in a very dangerous position. There is tremendous anger like I’ve never seen before, over all of the scams, and this new one—years of scams and witch hunts, and now this,” Trump cautioned.

“People are so angry at what is taking place,” Trump continued. “Whatever we can do to help—because the temperature has to be brought down in the country. If it isn’t, terrible things are going to happen.”
