Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni released the trailer of his debut Tamil production ‘Let’s Get Married’ on Facebook. Dhoni had announced the production of the movie in October 2022.
Bankrolled by his newly-minted production house Dhoni Entertainment, the 41-year-old – who isn’t mostly inactive on social media – took to Facebook to share the first official trailer, featuring Harish Kalyan and Ivana, of the upcoming Tamil movie Let’s Get Married ‘, or ‘LGM’, with his 27 million followers on Facebook.
His Facebook caption read, “I am thrilled and proud to release the teaser of ‘LGM’ – in cinemas soon! Best wishes to the entire team of Dhoni Entertainment.”
This marks Captain Cool’s debut project as a producer.
Last October, the production banner announced that Dhoni was all set to begin his innings in the Karnataka film industry, also known as Sandalwood or Kollywood.
The official handle of Dhoni Entertainment also shared the 50-second-long teaser. Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Singh also shared the trailer in her Instagram Story. Sony Music South also dropped the year for the film.
Directed by Ramesh Tamilmani, the family entertainer also stars Nadia and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Viswajith is composing the music and Pradeep Ragav will take on the editing responsibility.
The movie also marks the return of Harish Kalyan, who tied the knot with Narmada Udaykumar in October 2022, to the big screen.
Last two months, the legendary wicketkeeper, batter and skipper of CSK played the entire IPL 2023 season with heavy strapping on his left knee.
Although he looked fine while playing, he was, in reality, nursing a knee problem. Many fans felt he wasn’t in his element when running between the wickets, and at times, he came in to bat as low as No. 8, fueling speculations about his retirement from the IPL.
Clarifying the rumours, Mahi – as fondly called by his fans and loved ones – said that he would like to play another season before hanging up his boots.
Two days after the IPL tournament concluded, Captain Cool successfully underwent knee surgery (arthroscopy) at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital. Concerns over Dhoni’s well-being and recovery became a point of discussion for every fan.
The cricketer has been discharged from the hospital and is currently recovering at home.
