Opening up to Express.co.uk and other media about the show returning on a new channel, Stefan explained: “It should be back on screens in Autumn.”

He teased: “There might be some new characters but that is all I can say. I am saying it’s a rumour.

“It’s a soap and soaps are forever changing because actors leave and do other things or the characters don’t work – let’s be honest, that sometimes happens.

“That’s not the fault of the actor, it’s just that sometimes characters don’t work.

“At the risk of sounding terribly secretive, we don’t know anything.”

He added: “I would be surprised if there wasn’t a new face on the show.”

When asked if he was looking forward to more drama between Paul and Terese, he laughed: “I would love to say yes to that and I hope that’s going to be the case. I absolutely adore working with Bek.

“I’ve been fortunate – all of Paul’s ex-wives have been great to work with and they’re all gorgeous women. But Bek is the pinnacle.

“Bek is very professional, and in my opinion an extremely good actress. She gives so much.

“If we’re doing a two-hander scene together, she just gives me so much in her eyes and I like to hope I give the same to her.

“At the same time, she’s so damn naughty! That makes her so fun to work with as well.”

The actor, who has played the ruthless businessman for decades, also addressed how he felt when he discovered the soap was being revived.

He shared: “Being honest, I did have to think about it for a while, well when I saw a while I mean hours not days.

“It was just because of the fact that it had been nearly eight months since the end of the show.

Neighbours cast set to start filming new brand series nine months after axe

March 24, 2023 by www.dailystar.co.uk Leave a Comment

Beloved Australian soap opera Neighbours is set to return with a new series to be released through Amazon Freevee.

The popular Australian soap, which had seemingly come to an end last year after having been on air since 1985, will start filming next month, as announced by some of the cast members whilst on a tour in the UK this month.

The Press Association (PA) reports that cast members told the audience on the Neighbours – The Celebration Tour at the London Palladium that production begins in April.

The new series is set to be filmed at Nunawading Studios in Melbourne, where the original show was previously filmed.

Jason Herbison, an executive producer on Neighbours since 2013, expressed his excitement about the new series, stating that they are “busy writing the next chapter,” and added that it’s “exciting to see the sets being prepped, ready to start filming on April 17 which will be a huge day for everyone involved”.

Among the cast returning are Alan Fletcher (who played Karl Kennedy), Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy), Stefan Dennis (Paul Robinson) and Annie Jones (Jane Harris).

Neighbours had been dropped by Channel 5 last year, with the broadcaster saying it was instead focused on “increasing [its] investment in original UK drama”.

It was later announced that the show would cease production, with it stated at the time that “alternative funding” had not been found and a finale subsequently aired in July.

However, just months later, it was revealed that the show would return for a new series on Amazon Freevee, which is set to premiere for free on the streaming service in the UK and the US in autumn 2023.

The “revitalised” series will be produced by Fremantle like the original show.

Other actors set to reprise their roles include Ryan Moloney (Jarrod ‘Toadie’ Rebecchi), Tim Kano (Leo Tanaka). Georgie Stone (Mackenzie Hargreaves) and Rebekah Elmaloglou (Terese Willis).

I always struggled to get volume but found an easy way to get bouncy hair every time – I’m trolled for it but who cares

March 23, 2023 by www.thesun.co.uk Leave a Comment

HAVING straight hair is both a blessing and a curse as you’ll always be able to step outside without worrying about frizz, but you’ll also struggle with volume.

This is exactly what Angelique deals with every day, but luckily the beauty whizz has found a fool proof way of getting bouncy tresses without much effort.

Taking to her TikTok account, the brunette beauty appeared with damp hair as she spread a dollop of mousse on her hands.

“I saw on TikTok that if you put mousse in your hair before you blow dry it you get three times the volume ,” she explained while applying the product on her mane.

Angelique explained that you’re meant to start at the roots as this is where “you want the most volume”.

“I also saw that if you blow out your hair one way and then the other way you also get more volume,” she continued. “As you can tell, I struggle with volume.”

After doing a non-strategic dry of her hair, she then sectioned out the top with a round brush and started drying her mane from underneath.

Following this, she flipped her hair to one side as she said: “I realise this looks absolutely ridiculous but it’s so much more volume then what I normally get.”

@_angelique.terese then picked up a white plastic bag, which she said was full of rollers that her grandmother gifted to her.

“I’ve only tried rollers once and I didn’t have the right clip so it didn’t work,” she explained before getting to work with them again.

“If this works, I’m going to have Angelina Jolie hair,” she joked.

After adding several rollers around her hair, she waited for over two hours and returned with a full face of make-up to show the process of taking them out.

“The mousse gave me so much more volume than I normally get. Are you joking? Alter ego! The mousse trick 100 percent works. This is nuts,” she said as the video came to an end.

“I am in SHOCK,” she added in the caption.

While Angelique was clearly pleased with the results, she received a bit of backlash from trolls, who simply said she’s using the product correctly for the first time and that’s why it worked.

“Gen z had discovered mousse. I am old.” one person wrote, to which she responded: “Lol I knew it existed but I just learned how to use it for my hair type”.

Another said: “wait…when do people normally put in mousse? I thought everyone always puts it in before drying”.

Angelique responded: “I only found out recently!! I thought it was for curly hair”.

“The mousse trick… aka using the product for what it’s for,” another joked, while a fourth added: “my mum has been doing this since like 2001”.

North Forest ISD board members walk out of meeting

August 10, 2011 by www.chron.com Leave a Comment

The recently fired superintendent of the North Forest school district was supposed to have a chance to ask the seven-member school board to reinstate him at a meeting today night.

But in an unusual, convoluted move, the four board members who voted to fire James Simpson in March walked out of the meeting and essentially ended it.

Simpson was scheduled to have a hearing to present his formal complaint against the district — specifically that he was fired “in retaliation” for investigating a board member’s former relative.

But before Simpson could state his case, the school board’s attorney, Yvonne Taylor , said she planned to call the seven board members as witnesses. The members were sworn in, and confusion began.

Board President Barbara Gaston said all the witnesses in the hearing — and, thus, all the board members — had to leave the room under the district’s policy.

The four board members who voted to fire Simpson — Gaston, Charles Taylor Sr., Maxine Lane-Seals and T. Marie McCall — left the room.

“I think this is a ploy,” said board member Silvia Brooks Williams , who voted against firing Simpson and stayed in her seat.

Within minutes, Gaston returned to the room and left the approximately 30 audience members in shock.

She ended the meeting.

“There is not a quorum of the board in the room,” she said, referring to the mandatory four board members that must be present. “So, therefore, the meeting is now over, and everyone is asked to leave the room.”

Simpson’s attorney, Neal Adams , called Monday’s series of events “a game” and said he has never heard of such action in the 27 years he has worked with school officials.

“That just makes no sense at all,” said Adams, whose firm is general counsel for the Texas Association of School Administrators.

Still, Simpson has another chance to ask for his job back. He already has a hearing, scheduled for June, with an independent hearing examiner. The examiner — an attorney with power to subpoena documents and witnesses — will make a recommendation to the school board about whether to reinstate Simpson.

Simpson ultimately can appeal to Texas Education Commissioner Shirley Neeley or file a lawsuit against the district and individual board members, Adams said.

The North Forest Independent School District, a shrinking 9,000-student system in Northeast Houston, has been plagued by financial, academic and management problems for years.

The school board has fired or forced out three of its last four superintendents. In August, eight of the district’s 11 campuses netted academically unacceptable ratings from the state, and after the district couldn’t produce important financial records, Neeley in March sent in a conservator to oversee money matters.

In a formal complaint filed with North Forest, Simpson said he was terminated as revenge for investigating Gerald Eagleton , a district police officer who once was related to board member Charles Taylor Sr.

Taylor, who was married to Eagleton’s sister until she passed away, made motions to fire Simpson on Feb. 19 and March 8. Taylor has said he and Eagleton don’t talk often and has denied wanting to fire Simpson over the investigation.

According to Simpson’s complaint, community members urged him in early February to examine whether Eagleton viewed pornography while employed at Texas Southern University . After a preliminary review of Eagleton’s personnel records, Simpson suspended Eagleton on Feb. 28.

Simpson then contacted the Harris County District Attorney’s office. A follow-up investigation found pornography, plus “provocative pictures” of a fellow female officer named Timberly Douglas, on a computer reportedly used by Eagleton at a North Forest high school, according to a memo written by prosecutor Terese Buess .

Eagleton has denied looking at inappropriate images at Smiley High School , saying others had access to the computers in his office there.

In the hours before Simpson was fired, Simpson received e-mails from Taylor and Lane-Seals asking about the suspended police officers, according to the complaint.

Five days later, Gaston wrote Simpson a letter detailing complaints against him.

The letter says Simpson “failed to properly advise the Board of a bomb threat at a District school , failed to timely notify the Board regarding preliminary TAKS results, signed a contract to hire a principal before making the recommendation to the board and failed to notify the Board of a Lifetime Channel movie which aired regarding Smiley High School.”

Gaston also accused Simpson of not providing records to the Texas Education Agency in a timely manner and of acting “insubordinate” to her.

Adams, Simpson’s attorney, countered: “In every one of those cases, Dr. Simpson took appropriate action.

The Aussie soap has had something of an unprecedented year, after it was controversially axed by Channel 5 , with the broadcaster citing their desire at the time to invest in ‘original UK drama’.

Fans were quick to show their support, launching campaigns and petitions , and purchasing the show’s iconic theme tune , which re-entered the UK iTunes charts at number one , determined to find Neighbours a new home in a bid to prevent it from going off the air.

Who is coming back? Returning cast revealed

Word of Neighbours’ revival was broke to audiences in a specially filmed video clip, featuring Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher, Ryan Moloney and Stefan Dennis, who play Susan Kennedy, Karl Kennedy , Toadie Rebecchi and Paul Robinson respectively, confirming that they have all signed on to take part in the sequel series.

Neighbours will retain its typical format as a daily soap – with many new episodes on the way

When the news broke that Amazon Freevee, a streaming service, had made the decision to resuscitate Neighbours, speculation commenced in regards to what the show would look like when it made it’s comeback.

Despite being considered one of the primary formats for watching TV in this day and age, streamers have largely steered clear of soap operas, which is what made Freevee’s move to rescue one of the world’s biggest serial dramas rather unprecedented.

Would the show continue to drop daily? If so, would it be on all-year around? Or would it perhaps adopt more of a Netflix or Prime Video style of approach, in that it would drop ‘seasons’ all in one go?

According to Digital Spy , fans used to their daily dose of Erinsborough needn’t be concerned, with the plan being to keep Neighbours’ format identical to as it was before. What’s more, the show has been commissioned for two seasons, with at least 200 episodes each.

‘The plan is for Neighbours to keep its format as a high-volume daily soap opera, so it’ll still be the show that fans know and love’, a source told the publication.

‘Plans are being made for two new seasons, which will run for 200 episodes each. It’s an incredible result for fans, who thought they’d seen the last of the show when the finale aired in July.

‘The logic for Freevee is that daily episode drops will keep fans checking back on the streaming service and engage with other content available.’

It is currently unknown if five episodes will drop a week.

If daily weekday drops are the norm, then it’s also worth pointing out that there will be periods where Neighbours won’t be on the air, given that 200 episodes a year is a lesser amount in comparison to the show’s yearly runs on terrestrial TV, with Neighbours having previously aired the whole year around.

Daily episode drops is a strategy Freevee employs with Judy Justice, which has proven successful for the service, so it’s likely that Neighbours will follow suit.

Storylines will be completely new and fresh

Neighbours wrapped things up so beautifully in its ‘finale’, with pretty much every character’s storyline reaching a perfect conclusion.

A number of stories, such as Freya Wozniak’s superb introductory tales and David Tanaka’s time in prison, were seemingly trimmed due to the cancellation, but boss Jason has confirmed that he’s starting the show from a completely fresh perspective, having revealed already what would’ve happened in certain narratives had the show not been axed.

‘I will be approaching it fresh,’ he told Digital Spy.

‘I’m sure there are some ideas from the past that still have currency, though I’m aware some already leaked out! There’s something to be said for wiping the board clean and starting anew.’

Neighbours returns to screens on Amazon Freevee later this year, with hundreds of classic episodes already available to stream.
